Default Brian Head for Labor Day 9/1-3

Brian Head is calling. We will be heading up for the Labor Day Weekend 9/1-3. We will be doing some lift assisted riding and also some shuttling on our DH bikes. Any takers?

I think we will be up there that weekend too!

We have monday off, I think we will take Friday off too, which means we could be driving up Thurs night...

We will be staying at my house near Panguitch (my official reason for going up is to winterize the house).

Hope we hook up for a ride!!!!!

shuttles and park riding...

no solid plan yet.

at the very least i want to hit up Dark Hollow, Bunker Creek, Blow Hard and the Bike Park.... not necessarily in that order

i think mtb kitty and his fine specimen of a female might not come out. they were bitching about having to sit in traffic on friday night because they can't leave till 4pm. i am pretty sure we will be a group of 6 or 7 riders. Rodel is going to be up there as well.

Allison was thinking of doing self shuttles so we don't have to wait for the shuttle bus (we wasted HOURS last time waiting for them)

I have been looking forward to riding Brianhead all summer long! I had such a blast last year and all I could manage to sneak in was BunkerCreek. Can't wait for the weekend. Looks like I got the green light to stay over night in Cedar City to hit up Brianhead for 2nd day! Thank you wifey

We are meeting a friend there Saturday morning. We were thinking of hitting the lifts 1st, then shuttling. He is only going to be there for Saturday.

We have never self shuttled so we will defer to you on that one. I've never had a problem waiting on the shuttle before.

Well, first of all it'd end up being like $30-50 a person to do shuttles... We waited around at the Panguitch Lake general store for seriously like 1.5 hours last time and it was too late for another run and pick up by that time. The guy offered to drive up the dirt road and drop everyone off for a run down the bike park, but that was it.

Not interested in only getting in ONE shuttle per day. That'd suck.

Also, if we decide to do like 1-3 shuttles, at $15-20+ a pop, it'd get to be an expensive weekend.

I think it'd be just as easy to do self shuttles leaving one or so vehicles at the general store, shuttling everyone up, riding down to the store, and repeating however we work out the logistics. At least then we don't have to wait for a shuttle vehicle.

They didn't have specified drop off times. If for some reason we can't work it out after the first time or two then maybe we'll pay someone to do it.

so the plan is to do the bike park Saturday AM...

i am down with that.

Saturday PM we can do a Bunker Creek shuttle.

We can leave one vehicle at the lake when we are on our way up the hill in the morning on saturday

that leaves Sunday for the other shuttles...

I am pretty sure that the other shuttle runs drop into Parowan. If that is the case, it might be cool to drop a vehicle at the bottom Saturday night, that way we won't have to drive to parowan and then up to brianhead in the morning on Sunday...

just thinking out loud... if anyone has other suggestions i am open

Question

Guys,

Help me out here... what is the name of the trail that drops off the backside of Brian Head (south) and rides along the rim of Cedar Breaks and finally ends up coming down to Highway 14??... you come out across the road from a running stream with a waterfall for playing in until the shuttle shows up.

OMR

PS: Very envious of your trip... I really enjoy that place... ride hard, eat a lot & have fun!

Good chili cheese fries at the hamburger stand though. We should be able to easily shuttle ourselves. Even using Georg's we'd have to leave a vehicle at his shop.
