jesse, i cant do a mid morning or mid day ride, as i work from 9-6, but i suggest you make a trip down to aliso. it is nearly impossible to get lost there and you can experience some good fireroad climbs, singletrack climbs, double wide climbs, creek crossings (well, cement ditch crossings with water), fast and flowy singletrack descents with some good chunk in a lot of them! there is a fun singletrack called coyote that isnt too crazy at all and would be a great way for you to get your feet wet with some real dirt (no offense to the loop, or steven jackson) and see what else aways you out there!

dont be fooled that since el moro is right above the beach it is cooler. once you ride back along the canyon floor you can kiss the ocean breeze goodbye. you can link up aliso through el moro and lcwp if you wish. there are tons of trail options out there.

just got back from riding el moro. took some pics with my cell phone which i might post up later. Overall i would say this trail isn't very technical but it there is a lot of climbing especially from the get go. Also i have to add that the people who I saw out there weren't very friendly and didn't seem as sociable as per say the people at the loop. I went around 330 and rode around till 6. I did come back to my car once just refuel on water. One more thing that bothered me was thatparking was 10 bucks which in my opinion is way too much for a day use fee. I did enjoy myself and will return for a longer ride. Oh and i drove from HB for those that were curious. I'll see everyone at the loop this thursday when i will have already turened 21

Hey Jesse, great job

What time did you get there and what was the weather like? Did you meet up with anyone?

Keep in mind that the Thursday night loop is very social and not all rides are going to be like that. A lot of people ride El Moro as a training ride so they like the climbing and they like to keep focused.

Keep up the good work....try and get out on another trai while you have the time off. It's good to try out different trails. It gives you a lot more experience because it teaches you to pay attention to the trail. If you ride the same rides all the time you just ride with out really paying attention to what's going on around you.

Enjoy!

I have to agree, El Moro and Aliso is not the friendliest place to ride in OC. It seems like the riders are to busy to say Hi or return the favor.

That's why I park at LCW and rode over into El Moro, $3.

See you on the loop Thurs Jesse. If you're looking for workout, Chino Hills is fun. Long fireroad climbs and decent singletrack decents.

Jessie, you could've parked on Ridge Park Rd(free) on the LCW side and ride into El Moro(next time). If you're really serious about a workout, PM me and we'll ride.

Ridge Park is nice, as you're right by the single track at the end, and it's not $10
