Hey Gene,

No one's mentioned it - do we need an Adventure Pass for the parking area?

Default Update to Beek's Newbie ride

Wow, what a list. This ride is going to be FUN!

Black Star Canyon Rd. is open
You do not need an Adventure Pass to park on Black Star.

Rach(Wrecker), Glad you could make it and I'll take you up on the offer to help sweep fo sho, same goes for you Jeff(J Sims), Thanks.

Bummer Traci(surlygal), I hope you can find a sitter by then, you of all people should be on this ride since you yourself have led newbie rides. I hope you can make it.

Thanks Andy(Rut) for towing the BOB, we may need another .

The meeting time is 8am and we will ride no later than 8:20 from the iron gate. So if you're parked at the tree lot, be sure you are at the gate by 8:20 or you'll have to catch up(should be no problem for some, but impossible for others).

I will be there by 7:15am to assist in any last min bike adjustments. Get there early if you think you need your bike looked at.

The weather looks favorable this weekend, mostly cloudy in the morning, highs in the low 80's.

I have plenty of bags and gloves. Beek's was cleaned just last month so there shouldn't be much, but you never know.

Art Tuttle is up to his old self, He chased a couple riders out this week, but we will ride through. The only problem is whether or not he will try and block our vehicle access to Beek's. I'll know more by tomorrow.

If you have not RSVP'd yet, please do so, so we can figure out how many are joining this ride. Thanks in advance.

I will update this ride again tomorrow. Thanks everyone

Thumbs up Holy Crap!

This ride has gotten HUGE!!

As of last night before leaving for work, Jake was into comming along. So, if he does, it'll be his first REAL long climb.
We'll (he & I) just pedal along at a speed he comphy with, and see if we can get him all of the way to Beek's. No worries about waiting up for us, I know the way, and that's gonna be a lot of people to try and re-group.
We'll see you guy's and girls tomorrow!

No worries mate... the groups will sorta come together by themselves & since there's no time limit... no pressure.

I'll be riding next to Andy and helping encourage him onward... since the bob will be heavy... we may need to try and lighten his load on the ride up...

See you tomorrow..

I should have been more clear. Is there going to be enough parking for 50 cars?

I was just suggesting that we should car pool if possible

im in tustin just a bit off 22/(tustin ave exit) if anyone needs a lift. (can meet on chapman as well) truck bed and hitch rack can carry a few rigs. ~ 20 minutes from my place to B-star gate. just need to leave "a bit of room" in the truck for the beers i promised to bring for andy!

this was your request right, andy?

Note - may need to head back quick after ride as have family in town and "limited hall pass"

hit me with PM if want in

One thing has not been discussed so far: after ride festivities! Any plans or options? We can always play it by ear.

Looking forward to meeting everyone on my first STR ride! I'll be riding the red IBEX Asta.

What? We can play it by BEER? I think that's what I heard!
