For us noobs, can someone post directions or a nearby address I can use for this place? I'm thinking about riding with y'all on 8/4, but I have no idea how to get to the trail head.

Directions from the closest freeway would be enough. I'm coming from Chino Hills if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

are you toll road savvy? that makes things easier.
from the 91, take the 241 toll to chapman/santiago canyon. a left from the offramp puts you onto santiago.

from there, you go up a few miles and silverado canyon road will be on your left- its after the lake and you'll cross a bridge right before it. there are several signs advertizing local restaurants and even a Warriors MTB sign.

after the left on Silverado, it's pretty much another immediate left on to blackstar. go down until you get to the gate.

from the 55, you'd get off at chapman, head east, and that turns into santiago canyon road.

Just kidding Gene... Congrats as well....actually, it will be great to have you as a Warrior. You've more than shown that in addition to your riding you commit time and effort to help maintain the trails (Warrior requirement). Plus, you're a hell of a nice guy!

Just read the W.S. newsletter and saw this ride cross referenced there. Congrats on your nomination, Gene. Way to go!

Think I'm finally ready to hit Black Star again, but can't make it happen that day. Have fun, all!

And Andy, to complicate matters, Newcastle is actually available in cans--only catch is they're exceedingly hard to find. Just thought I'd throw that tidbit out there. Good luck!

BevMo has the cans in stock pretty much all of the time. You can check stock at your local store online.

Possibly but its going to be very hot out there and I dont know anyone else going with a bike. Going to make some calls though I may ride in AZ on my way back. Going to pit stop at a friends house in Queen Creek both ways to break up that long ass drive.

Should we be bringing bags to pick up the garbage?

Gene,

Why don't we have LarDog bring bags when he brings the support bevs up? We'll need a truck to haul out all the trash that has accumulated over the years.

Thanks LJ,
Thanks for the heads up on the cans. Tecate is always a great tasting beer under the hot Santa Ana sun! Not to mention is is quite a bit less expensive.
