Well, at least it seemed major to me. I've only been mtb'g five months and I missed SAR Boats attempt to uproot a tree with his shoulder, so this was big time in my book.
A 55 year old man tried to take the first downhill after the bridge and his tire washed out. He planted his face right in the large rocks that were left over from the rail road repairs. Sorry I only got the one photo, but he had blood everywhere. His entire face was scraped and he had a pretty deep gouge in his cheek. The EMT's took one look and called an ambulance. They peeked in his mouth and the tone of voice said it all - Ooooohhhh, he's going NEED stitches in there. His glasses blew up, his visor tore off and his helmet cracked. He had no idea how he crashed and couldn't remember even riding his bike. His buddy coached him to remember his name and address but it took a few minutes. He complained a LOT about a tingling and burning sensation in his fingers and toes. He must have really planted his noggin in the dirt. Every mtb'r that came by offered to help - good mojo.

I started about forty-five minutes later and was wondering if those parallel tracks were yours. There's got to be a bit of a learning curve to ride such a contraption, especially in remembering not to come too close to obstacles.
Hills must be really easy though... kick back and let your sweetie do all the work! Adios! |

Ya, that is a bad area now that the crews are done working on the tracks and gone. It seems that they only halfway cleaned up there mess when they were done. Now that whole section is rockey and loose and sandy. On another note ShugaMama rode the Loop this morning and told me that the hole on the singletrack by the horse ring is getting bigger. She also ran across large chunks of concrete in the middle of the trail. This is B.S. that is going to hurt somebody and needs to be stopped.

Yeah, the hole was in the shadow of the trees on Sunday. I also saw concrete on the loop. One chunk was dragged across the trail just past the hole and left a few yards into the grass. I saw what looked like a concrete meter box busted into pieces and thrown on the trail. I needed a rest so I just threw them into the ivy.
