Updated plans listed in event description above ^^^^

If you are interested please read/reply

also as referenced posting vid below I shot to show some trails at Peters if you are not familiar (starts atop cactus riding "backwards to typical route) possibly contributing to the "confusion" /knucklehead move on part of a young hiker who decided to jump out in front of me after waiting on the trailside with his parents(?)

Hope to see you there

I think your plans sound great!

I'll bring drinks and I'll think of some other food dish to add.

If you need help let me know - I know Peters pretty well. I have a tuesday ride at Peters.

Sounds like fun.

I will bring my famous potato salad for the crowd (kept on ice in the cooler!) - no burgers for us, thanks anyway, we'll bring our own main dish.

Looking forward to the good times!

I'll be there with 2 total. I can bring an EZ up if needed + any food/drink item.

A couple thoughts: Would it be easier to meet and park at Irvine park? That way we start and end where the BBQ is and everything we bring with us will be there rather than at Albertson's. I think it's $3 to park there.

Also - Is alcohol allowed at Irvine park? I don't think anyone will overdo it with the kiddies around but I know I enjoy a coldie after a ride.

I think it makes sense to park at Irvine. Kids would enjoy the blair witch section - nothing tough there.
I believe alcohol is not legal. It would have to be undocumented.

Craig - I was planning on bringin EZ up as well but please feel free to bring another as am sure will be helpful. as far as food anything is appreciated...you're call. cold stuff or for the bbq. Believe al-cohol. is not allowed but red cups could work.

agree irvine would be easiest. Posted up Albertsons as it is mid PC and Irvine. Also didn't want to "force" others to pay when I know some have "philosphy" on park fees. Think may be $5 on wknd but I'm game to move meeting to Irvine...will pick a spot and post up (i guess anyone who wants to park at Alberstons can still do so

sounds like parking at irvine will be best call...will update post and post up specific location in near future.

Schecky - what is the blair witch section...not familiar

Blair witch is the river bottom area.
On you right if you are riding from Albertson's to the three Bs via the FR, or on your right after you finish up with Chutes/Zips and are heading back. There are a bunch of little trails.

Default Free swag for the kids!!!

Some cool news - I had reached out to a few local LBS and The Path and Adreneline Bikes shops both provided some free swag for a kids raffle/give away.

Includes but not limited to bike helmet, flat pedals, bike pump, kids safey vest, lights, tubes, bells, gels and bars, etc. we do teh give away at picnic.

Again - Big thanks to both Neil at Adreneline and Tani at The Path!!!

also some info on meeting place below

Address/directions to the park per their website

Irvine Regional Park
1 Irvine Park Road Orange, CA 92862 (714)973-6835 or (714)973-3173

Locate Irvine Regional Park with Map Quest

Irvine Regional Park is located in Santiago Canyon, six miles east of the City of Orange. To reach the park, take the Newport Freeway (#55) to the Chapman Avenue East offramp. Head east on Chapman for approximately five miles. Turn left on Jamboree for one fourth a mile to the park entrance.

Meet at Irvine park Lot # 10.

Enter park, Pay $5

Follow sign towards GROUP AREA 1,2,3 (i.e. go right)

Drive -> pass duck pond on left -> Drive a bit more -> look for sign on left that says #10. Park you car, truck, SUV, etc...pretty simple, huh

Maybe even look for this ghey sign if i get to park early enough to post em

Yes. Apologize for not reconfirming sooner. Will be there with my son, and probably wife in tow as well. Maybe the boy can round up a friend as well. Will bring some bbq-type sides, unless it would be helpful to contribute some more burgers or dogs, or something like that? Looking forward to the day.

Update on me, i'm also going to bring 2 other girls that makes 4 total. My issue is that the other 2 girls can't ride bikes well at all. One has just learned and the other is on training wheels (and hates them).. We may just ride around the park, 9 miles is way to long for both of them..Any ideas?

Tracy no worries, bring them along. irvine "loop" was just an option. nothing is cast in stone here. we'll hopefully find a means to accomodate all levels. Based on who shows and what level kids are we can maybe just all do peters and while others do lap i can take you on short flat out and back with the girls (am sure my wife and son will enjoy shorter ride anyway). I'm guessing 1 -1.5 miles at most each way. other option maybe is merely stay on paved lap in irvine whiel others hit peters and then we regroup again at end of rides. plan was to keep it simple and fun for the kids . we'll figure it out

Lacey, Jake and I will more than likely be there. If my youngest daughter dosn't have a soccer game, I'll have all three kids.
I'm leaving for Oregon on Sunday, so I don't know how long into the afternoon we can stay.
This sounds like another GREAT STR event!
Thanks Kid A!
