Default San Juan Trail - upper loop??

Is anybody from the Corona side of the Santa Ana's interested in doing doing after work rides of the upper counter clockwise loop from Blue Jay to Cocktail Rock? I really like the rocky section between Cocktail Rock and Blue Jay on the San Juan Trail side. I thought a Blue Jay to Cocktail via Old San Juan Trail and then back to Blue Jay via San Juan Trail would be a nice after work ride.

I don't know, I was just wondering if there was any interest. It would certainly be a lot more thrilling than an after work Santa Rosa Plateau ride, and not really that tough to get to either.

So start the ride off with riding down to Cocktail thenSJ back up? About what time would you want to get started?

I was assuming we'd be parking at Blue Jay, riding the Old San Juan loop at the top, and turning back up to Blue Jay from Cocktail.

Yeah, exactly. From Cocktail, take the trail to the right back to Blue Jay.

I'm totally open to start times. If 6PM works for everybody, then let's do 6. Don't think of me being the organizer. I was just thinking that all the OC folks have all of these easy to get to trails for after work rides. I was thinking we should be able to do the same thing, but obviously we are limited on trail choices. Blue Jay is fairly quick to get to, so that's why I thought of it. I'm pretty sure the upper loop could be done in less than two hours, so probably no later than 6 to 6:30.

How about Thursday the 20th at 6PM?

I'll know by this evening whether my wife has something already planned, so check this thread before heading to work Thursday morning.

I think you meant Thur 6/21... I know since I'm the one that usually screws up the dates.

Why yes, you're right.

I scheduled a job for 6-ish PM tonight, so it looks like my bike will continue to sit in the garage this week.

Hate to say it, but I'm going to the loop.

I've got to save my legs for the double I'm doing this Saturday, but next week if it's still on....
