Hey xhusker there will be a ton of yetis and rocky mountains and some chumbas but to ensure you will get a bike to demo make sure you get there early as we are unsure of how many people are coming. Bring a credit card and a drivers liscense. Nam we should have no problem getting you on a 4 incher.

We will keep an eye on the fire but I think the smoke might be an issue, either way I'll be there bright and early to see what the rangers say

if nothing else Snow Summit will still be on

If you are thanking about if the roads are open, I am on my way from Laguna to SART area and plan on using the toll road.

This was from OC Registers Website:

The 261 was closed between Portola Parkway and Santiago Canyon while Jamboree Road in Tustin was shut down between Pioneer and Canyonview. Those closures were expected to last through at least midnight Friday.

The web sites for KNBC's traffic report and Caltrans both show no restrictions or street closures as of a few mintes ago.

Just have to see when we get there how the smoke is.

Nice turnout. Nice little ride through the Oaks(been) plus Blair Witch(never been), Thanks Gregg and Mike, good riding with you guys. Congrats to all the winners. Thanks to Adrenaline, Yeti, Rocky Mountain & Chumba and thanks to High Hopes. I'll post the pics later. I'll see you all at the next ride, like maybe next weekend for the Beek's newbie ride.

Good times and great turnout today! The Adrenaline Crew really outdid themselves, and everything seemed to come together nicely

The grub was great, the bevvies cold, and the raffle swag...went home with someone else. No worries, scored a couple tubes and helped support a great cause. Not too shabby. Thanks to the demo folks for bringing their wares, though I stuck with my own ride this time.

Hmm, maybe a 303 tomorrow at Big Bear...

What a great and fun ride! We showed up a bit late and found the first checkpoint accidently (Queen #1,) we just rode from there. Soon enough Punky had a problem with her rear wheel sliding around on her so she turned it upside down and started working on it. We looked behind us and heard what had to have been a stampede. It was STR in the house. One by one, everyone passed with big ol' smiles and a ton of laughter. Punky turned the bike over and off we went up the B!tches. Still there were smiles everywhere. It was a lot of fun. At the top of the climbs was another check point. Steve was handing them out (Queen #2.) I did a little trash patrol and off we went again. Everyone was in great moods. No fighting to get up the hill or down the hill. It was great!
Before too long I ended up with 4 queens and some other number card! I ended up with the winning poker hand and a new set of Race Face Cranks! Thanks to everyone for the great event! It couldn't have been better. Yeeeehaaaw!!!!!

That was my first semi-official STR event, and was yet another confirmation of what great people Adrenaline & STR have going for them. Wish I could have met more people (and really wish I was better with names!), but everyone was way cool.

A fun event, well-run, great turnout, awesome swag, cool demos, fun times, and a good cause: What more could you ask for? Looking forward to a report on how much was raised. With that many people pitching in, I bet it made a nice dent. Big props and much thanks to everyone involved!

Talking We err She Wins!

I started my day being bummed not being able to ride since I tweeked out my knee (again) the other day. Yuka asked me if I was going to go to the event and I kind of shrugged my shoulders giving her this maybe look and told her there was a fire in the area the day before. First thing I do is check out the STR site and see the post from Waldo on this thread. No closures, no other bad news on this thread plus I get a call from MrDokebi that he's there and everthing is fine so off we go! When we get there all I can say is "What a great turn out!" Good food, good vibes and great people as always, glad I'm here. During the raffle I was quite happy to win a shirt and swag but as Neil was reading off the final numbers for the SS 29er I gave up since the first number was far from what I had. I turned to Yuka and she's fixed on her ticket. Second number's announced and she's still fixed on her ticket. Neil finally announces the last number and she's pauses then starts to yell and scream! Oh yeah! I can't wait until I ride um err... I mean she takes this out on the trail. Gotta thank Adrenaline, Yeti, Chumba, Rocky Mountain and High Hopes for this great event (Also KHS for donating the bikes)! Great seeing some familiar faces out there! Sorry for not making my rounds and introducing myself to the new ones or the ones I've seen around but haven't properly introduced myself.

Bummed to have missed it. There is a nasty summer cold/flu floating around....
Glad to hear it was so successful.
