Well, for a quick update. Jared is fine. He just snapped his collarbone in two. It is a very clean break, he is lucky it did not go through the skin. Doctor gave him a very nice prescription for Vicodin, although he says he doesn't need it, but we will see what he says tomorrow. Big thanks to everyone who helped him out, especially Schecky for driving Jared to St. Jude's and helping me get his bike into our car and stuff. And what fun to be just about done in the ER only to see Dino Brown come poking his head in along with Maverick. There was a third guy but, sorry, don't know your name.

Always fun to have STR reunions in the ER. Anyways, Jared is in a sling and is out of commission for about 6-8 weeks, but I'm sure he'll be active enough lurking around these forums. Heck, he's already said he'll still show up at Fullerton just to hang in the parking lot with you guys. Thanks again to all. He says he'll try and get some Jenson g.c's for all those who helped him.

Mcgyver is fine. Dislocated his shoulder pretty good! Arrived at St. Jude's 9pm.... left at 4:00am. Straight out of an episode of ER. My funny report later today.

a couple hours until thing thing starts.

will be my first time with you guys out on a ride, i'll be the guy who looks lost and confused on a red Kona.

Coming from Arcadia, so I guess I should leave somewhat earlier than I would normally.

edit: also took the plunge and went with clipless a couple days ago after years of flats. unclipping on streets = no problem

slow uphills = we'll see

I rode the other day on platforms for the first time since a few years and it sucked so bad. Clipless is the way to go.
