Default 5/28/07 Cucamonga Canyon to Frankish Peak

Do you like adventure?

Want to get off the beaten path and take the road less traveled?

Are you hardcore?

Yeah? Prove it. Let's ride Cucamonga Canyon to Frankish Peak. Meet at the top of Skyline Road (in Alta Loma, just follow Sapphire to the top and Skyline is to your left and continues north). 7am. It's early 'cause we're hardcore.

I don't know how long this ride is, but I don't care because I'm hardcore. It's probably overgrown and stuff in places, but I don't care 'cause I like being off the beaten path. I don't know what most of the trail looks like since I've never been but I like adventure.

Stop talking about how cool you are and show it. Ride Cucamonga Canyon and then laugh at your friends who didn't and aren't really hardcore.

(I deleted the other event because I thought it was confusing. Hope that doing that doesn't lead to more confusion or consternation. Sorry for any confusion that the previous confusion might have caused.)

I don't know, actually. EMB is going to lead, I guess. All I know is we'll be starting from Cucamonga Canyon. The trail starts out paved and goes up about a mile or so. It's pretty steep in places, but totally rideable. It gets you all warmed up! Then, the trail forks. To the left, you cruise down into the canyon. To the right you go up the side of the hill toward San Sevaine.

Dude, Chris, go with us! You're totally hardcore. Certainly more hardcore than I!

C'mon Chris, it's local turf, you gotta ride it. I'll be going super slow, so if anyones interested in a slower ride, jump on in.

We did 92 miles today and climbed 8,000 feet. It was a good day in the Valley of the Dirt People!

How was your knee, Mike?

And, do you want to carpool? I can get myself there, if not. I don't have a bike rack, still.

I rode today on this little bit I like over here. Really local. Short little loop. Climbed just under 1000 feet in like 1.5 miles or something. I forgot to check how many miles I was at before I started the climb so it might have not been that steep, but next time I ride it I will look. Takes like a minute and a half to get down. It goes down steep!!!

Good ride today. Lot's of climbing and some over grown trail. But over all it was all doable (If you're hard core!) Hahaha! There are a few hike-a-bike sections but they're short and not too steep.

Thanks Glen for setting up this ride, it is only 10 minutes from my house so I say we do it again soon. Good riding with you both.

I totally meant to bring my camera 'cause I know how important pics are to the ride report. I'll try to write something detailed. Mike you missed out. It was a good ride. We'll do it again 'cause I enjoyed the trail.
