Exclamation Getting ready for The Traverse...5/19

I'm planning on riding up Holy Jim to Upper Holy Jim down Coldwater, back up Indian Truck Trail and back down Holy Jim on Sat. Planning on meeting up with the S & M Warrior's ride at the top of Holy Jim... trying to coordinate all this right now.

Anybody else interested? Gene?

Hey Gregg, If your talking about the group with Ned "Lone Wolf" Reynolds, I'm riding with them. I may be in way over my head. Loving the challenge! Gene

We're all in over our head's... but that's the fun of it...

Where are you starting from?

Ned usually starts from his house in Trabuco Canyon... not the ITT side.

Ned told me at the Toad that he would be sending an update to those riding. Time and place to meet yet to be determined. When I was talking to Mark Wilson about it. I thought we would be climbing up Holy Jim as well. Gene

I've got an email into Neddly...

Suzanne said they are meeting on the Indian Truck Trail side and going up from there...it's closer from their house on that side.

I know that Chris (Vargus) was looking for volunteers for this event. Go on our web site: The Warrior's Society and contact Chris and ask if he still needs volunteers. The cool thing about this is that if you volunteer for any of our events or trail work, you get invited to several "thank you volunteer rides" (lots of food and beverages afterwards!) and the infamous Christmas Tree ride on the Trabuco Trail.

I volunteered at VQ last year and didn't get that invite

But, I'm used to being an outcast

Dude ... the glass is half full not half empty!

You need to get put on Chris' email list of volunteers.. that's why I suggesting emailing him. He will also send you the club newsletter.

BTW, the VQ volunteer list fills up pretty fast.

<~~Rachel, I've volunteered at a few events and have never been put on the volunteer email list.

I did the VQ (even broke a 4x truck--NO, I wasn't driving, it was Ed's truck--I was merely medical support), Sprint Series, tried to volunteer at the Toad Fest, but again, not put on the email list; and, I've even volunteered at other non-Warrior events like the MS150.

Again, not invited to the Xmas party--but, that's not why I volunteer.

I figure that if I'm not put on the email list/don't get the info, they don't need me to volunteer, that's not the point. If he needs volunteers for the Traverse, I'll do that, but I don't expect any special privileges for it--that's not what volunteering is about (really, who wants special priveleges for MS?)

Now I'm confused , there must be 2 start points. Maybe Mark and Suzanne are taking another group up ITT but I could be wrong. I'll email Ned if I don't hear from him by Thursday.

Chelle, be sure to address the email to Chris. He always answers them, you can also ask Sherry Panttaja at Switchback Cyclery. Gene

if you volunteer for the MS150 you should get privleges. The event could not go on without you. Those with MS REALLY appreciate the work you do, so thank you. Keep volunteering for anything and everything to make a difference in your community.

I guess I'm off topic now for this thread, eh?

Gregg, I just got the email from Chris about the ride with Ned. They are starting on the ITT side off I-15. I'm sure you received the same email. I have already RSVP'd to Chris and he added me to the list. Although I would prefer to start from this side and go up Lower HJ, then upper and link up just as you suggested, but Mark and Suzanne live on that side of town and I guess that's where the lunch will be afterwards. I hope to see you there.

Gene: See you at the top of Upper Holy Jim.

Gregg, I told a couple of riders about your ride from this side and they sounded interested. I'll see you at the top and look froward to hitting that down hill with you. Gene
