FYI To all who are planning to do the Cannell Plunge:
I just booked my camping and shuttle reservation with the Mountain Rivers Adventure company Kern River Rafting with Mountain and River Adventures in Kernville, CA, Whitewater Rafting, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Team Building and Kern River Campground in the Kern River Valley, Kernville, CA. There are only 4 campsites left in their campground and shuttles are filling up quickly. They need as much notice as possible so that they can arrange the right amount of vans to shuttle everyone. If you haven't done so already, make your reservations ASAP. Call 760-376-6553. ---mark, 3F |

Ron,
If you want to chip in I've got room at my campsite. I'll be in #20 at MRA.

No matter what ride you choose around Kernville there is going to be some climbing. Cannell has around 2000' of climbing, at 8-9000 feet elevation. It is not just a downhill ride. JO and others have climbing to get to the good stuff. You can't avoid it.
