Midsummer nights sunset ride
Anyone up for a ride to Santiago Peak to watch the sunset on the longest day of the year. I think its June 22nd.
I've done this for the past 2 years with some friends and it's as hot as hell climbing Harding in the afternoon heat but its more than worth it. Could come back down Harding or go more adventurous and do a night decent of Joplin to Old Camp and down from there

I need to check which day is actually the longest first of all...but its around June 20-24th or something.
Harding makes the best trip up to the peak because you can watch the sun going down. You cant see 5hit from HJ apart from bushes. However once we get up to the peak we can split up and the brave/foolish can come down Joplin and the rest can take Harding back. Last year we went down Joplin (my 1st time) and it was really good fun, someone ended up in a tree (!) I lsot count of the number of moths that ended up in my mouth (!) all round good times! LOL! Hmmmm....might take Harding down this year! ha!

I'm in. Sat 23rd an option? What about setting off up Harding around 5, put us on the top around 7 / 8 ish.
I could make a 6pm start on a week day also, might make for a tough Friday. In fact friday might be perfect fo a 6.30 start.

You guys will have to run with this - I'll be out of town. No chance of me doing it mid week either. Been sick since last week and pile drived myself into the ground doing 47miles yesterday. Be sure to take your camera!
