Check out this page, North Ranch rides in west side and I've met some pretty cool people there.

The West Ranch folks probably do these trails too, but most of the trails posted on their site are in the SM's but farther north than West LA/ Santa Monica. In Santa Monica/ West LA you might try - Sullivan Canyon, Sullivan Ridge, Rustic Loop and Backbone Will Rodgers they are prime West LA/ Santa Monica Mountain rides. From East to West (kinda)...Kenter, the Whoops, Hollyhock, Gardenland, Dave's Run, Westridge, Westridge s.t., Dirt Mullholland, Sullivan Cyn, Squirel Cage, Sulli Ridge, Jedi, Cababllero Cyn, FR30, Will Rogers Backbone, Trailer/ Temescal, Eagle rock loop, Trippet/Paseo Miramar. I think I might have missed a few others (and those that shouldn't be posted in public).
