Didn't end up doing any maintenence. I wanted to see how the rain affected the trail. We rode it yesterday and it was awesome. Nice and tacky. But, like I said, I really want to get rid of some of the dangerous parts and some of the sand that gets so bad come summer. I spoke to Doug and had him put me on the volunteer list for the next trail work day. I was a bit bummed that I had to go through all the liability stuff if I wanted to help. I ended up going to the bike co sale as well and came back and rode 5 Oaks-Cholla-rocket-coyote. It was a good day and the weather was perfect.

Theres dangerous sections to five oaks? honestly, I think the trail is fine, with the exception of the sandy section at the top, i see no real issues. And im sure alot of other people feel the same way.

I agree, I could see if the trail was totally washed out that there would be a need. The Luge, Holy Jim, as well as many others has it's "obstacles". Clearing bush so it doesn't impede into the trail makes more sense.(branches, twigs and other things to poke your eye out or catch into your leg). I'll gladly give up time for some of that!

Hahha, i know exactly what turn you are talking about. but you know what, thats what the trail wants to throw at you, so you gotta cope with it and learn to carry your speed through it.
