Default 5-Deer to Golden Eagle ride 4/20

I'm planning a ride out here in Palmdale if anyone's interested. Approximately 75-80 miles out and back and very hilly. I've ridden most of this but in pieces so not sure about total time. I figure about 8-9 hours including stops at Lake Hughes to refuel.

When: Friday, April, 20
Where: Start at my house in Palmdale (near 14 Fwy and Palmdale Blvd)

Ride 4 paved miles up Lake Elizabeth Rd to Lazy T Ranch
From there it's fire road to 5-Deer trail
Then a series of fire roads with sections of legal ST
Accross Bouquet, San Francisquito, Lake Hughes Road
culminating in a run down Golden Eagle Trail ending at Sandberg Inn on Old Ridge Route.
Then reverse and ride back the same way.

There are numerous bail out points along the way and taking the pavement back is an option if the ride goes longer than planned or tiredness sets in. The store at Lake Hughes is the planned refuel point. A 100oz hydration pack and 2 bottles and food are recommended.

Apologize for the Friday but it's my 9/80 and family obligations have claimed all my weekends through the end of June. I'll be riding it for sure but would welcome some company.

Wow, that's a huge ride! One-way, point-to-point, would be fun. Out-and-back seems like a real session of pain, even with the pavement return. You double century riders really are gluttons for punishment, aren't you?

I rode Golden Eagle last Sunday. It's a little bit soft and lumpy, but still a whole lot of fun. And, it's still fairly clear of brush.

Rode Five Deer a little less than a month ago. The motos have really torn up portions of it, adding all sorts of ugly alternate lines. Definitely more rocky and rutted than I've seen it in a long time. Still a hoot to ride, though.

Have a fun ride!
