Default Brown Mtn - El Prieto 8am 3-10-07

Yeah this is last minute and I know there's a ride in the San Gabriels posted before mine, but it's later so you can do that one after ours. We're taking off from JPL at 8am heading up to Brown Mountain, then back down through El Prieto. If you're interested, look for us at the JPL parking lot off Windsor. Black Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I'm meeting at Andy's place at 7am and car pooling with them - they seem to know where they're going!

Just off to watch '300' but will drop you a line on the way.............

Good time to ride El Prieto, the Poison Oak gets bad there in the Spring. Nice trail, enjoy...problem is it is just to short. After that Loop, you may want to go ride up Mt. Lowe Fireroad to Inspiration Point and ride down Middle Merrill, Echo and Sunset to get in some more miles.

We normaly park at JPL and ride the pavement over to Lake St/Lower Sam Merrill, up to Middle and/or Upper Merrill...hit El Prieto and the end of the ride. Brown Mt/El Prieto Loop is to short.

After your training rides in the Santa Ana's I have no problem believing that you will ride a trail multiple times.

Nobody just rides Brown/El P by themselves on a weekend. Do what Dean says. Climb up the Merrils, this is really a good fun climb, with some great views. You can then descend back down from Inspiration Point for a very fun and techy ride.
