Just got back from the IMBA "presentation" that was more of a cool social event. Pasadena Cyclery had pizza and drinks for everyone. We got to chat with the IMBA folks for a while. Really cool peps.

So far there are only 12 people registered for the event. I hope we can get some more. If you have the time please come out. This event will help teach you how to do trail maintenance and the put your new knowledge to practice.

Saturday's events were pretty cool. IMBA put on a great trail building and maintenance presentation. Many good tips. Big thanks to Mark for supplying lunch for us. And an even bigger thanks to Howard of the Angeles National Forest. Howard is the person responsible for getting IMBA out to our area help work the trails. How cool is it that the Forest Service help organize a mountain bike trail maintenance event. The IMBA people said that he is the most open land manager to mountain biking they have met so far in their work with IMBA Trail Crew. I consider us pretty luck to have him.

We had at least 25 people in the afternoon for hand on training. The group was split in two groups. One group began cutting a new entrance to the Idlehour Trail, which was extensively eroded due to ruff from the road, and the other group learned maintenance techniques on the beginning of the Middle Sam Merrill Trail.

Photos to follow when I can figure out how to use Vista.
