I was told today, by a few guys who rode it, the lower portion is fine except for some of the darker areas, and then it's soft, but if you don't mind a little mud, not bad. The horsey peoples have rode through a lot, so some of the puddles will take a little longer to dry out. The upper part was good they said and if you are riding over to Potato, it's down right tacky.

I was planning on going up one of the fireroads (Cobal/Burbank), toss in a little single track and climb back out and down the fireroads. Less than 2hrs for sure. I just want to try out my new HID.
No one seems to be up for it so if I dont get anyone to show I'll just go for a ride in the morning. If you want to ride let me know by around 10pm(Wed). Later |

I bought a new light myself, but can't find the damn charger. I'm going to pass this week and hope it gets warmer next week. I'm a really wuss when it comes to the cold.

Well starting the beginning of January they've decided to actively enforce the rules there at the Claremont side. Groups have been doing this at night starting at CWP weekly for years so not sure why now but the rules are posted driving into the park and at the gate with fliers announcing the recent active enforcement. I'll miss the night rides there some of the creatures that come out on the trails are pretty fascinating...including frogs and these odd little owls that sit on the trail?
(CWP Park is closed after dark)

I called the office at Marshall Canyon Regional Park and I was told that I need to call the County Sherrif Dept for the info. Here is what I got from the Bonelli sub station which patrols the area. You can ride Marshall at night, but only until 10 pm. You must be out of the park by then. As far as starting from the CWP, Sharky already made clear the rules.
