Epic is that race run you had at Fontana a few races ago!

Epic means different things to different people. But I think we can all agree that it means mucho miles and most of the day in the saddle.

Ride from Post Office to South Fork Campground is 14 miles.

Nam, start later, take the slower riders and newbees, met the main group at South Fork and finish the ride with them. I am sure someone will give you a ride back to your car.

nice one simpson, ill epic you.

nam, WTF is pwned, and why are there points involved?

.50 epic for me. im only riding to the 38 then riding home if some one can give me a ride to the trailhead, if not ill be doing the whole thing. how hard is it to get to the 38 from the camp ground, im not familiar with "southfork" campground.

South Fork Campground is right on Highway 38.

pwned is what those dang kids say. Its basically owned. Look at your keyboard and notice the O and the P next to each other. Basically an illiterate teenager once hit the P instead of the O whilst typing owned. Somehow they thought it was cool...
And Jason scored a point because he made a slam against you, or "owned" you.
back to high school.

Are you riding from Angelus Oaks via the dirt to South Fork and then road riding from South Fork back to Angelus Oaks and beyond? I have to be honest, the road is not downhill until you almost get to Angelus Oaks...from there to Redlands it is killer, screaming road speed so be careful on the road with knobbies on some of the downhill sections.

B-rad, you get your cx rolling yet?

He could ride the SART almost all the way down too.

Ryan there is some awesome singletrack you can ride down versus riding down the asphalt. It's as fun as any other part of the trail and if you've got a dh, wouldn't you rather do it in the dirt?

Yo homie, you don't want to have to ride back from doing the post office to south fork. Taking the road back from southform to the post office is not down hill, its up and down and sucks. If you are gonna do the post office to the camp ground you might as well just do the camp ground back to the post office. Then if you do that, you might as well just take that trail down to mentone, then you still got quite a ride back. If you are gonna attempt it atleast have a cell phone to call mommy when you need a ride home.

Oh yeah and the south fork campground is right on the 38, its not even a short distance its just right there, but like i said, its not a straight downhill shoot down the 38 from there, it will take you a good amount of time pedaling to get back to the post office.

I'm going to chime it to say that I road SART back when I was not as fit as I am today (which isn't saying or lot; or maybe what it says is that I wasn't very fit at all) and by the time I got to South Fork campground I was whupped. I took the road back to the post office and it wasn't bad. It's not downhill, as others have pointed out. However, if you are tired, it's better than going back on SART as road miles are much easier than dirt miles. Heck, I think we hit 30mph gong back at one point. I know for damn sure we finished at least an hour before the guys who took dirt back. So, if you're tired at South Fork, taking the road back is a good option.
