Highway 2 has been closed to Highway 138 for a number of years.
You can drive to where Old Highway 39 (also closed, since the late 70's) intersects with Highway 2. During the summer they open a couple of gates and so you can get to Williamson Rock, a popular rock climbing rock, and Isip Saddle just past the tunnels. They need to re-route Highway 2 around a slide, supose to start work 2007-2008. Be nice to have that section open again.

I am up and getting ready to go. It is 38 degrees on top of Mt. Wilson, so road will be open, no snow. Radar is showing scattered showers, so it will be hit and miss for rain. Bummer that the views maybe be gone because of clouds...I guess we will see. I really am hoping for some light snow to ride in.
