Default CC training ride

Okay ... well, maybe this is a bit crazy ... but anybody up for doing the whole 44-mile, 8,000 feet cc course next weekend? I want to get an idea for the entire course. It will make me feel better to race the course knowing I've done it. We can take lots of breaks. I'll probably have to, since I want to do it on my single-speed. Any takers? Sat. or Sun.?

its defintely a good idea to ride the course before race day. I rode the CC course 2 weekends before race day last year.

A good idea is to park at MapleSprings with the cars stocked with food/drinks, change of clothes and everything else. This is where your checkpoint is anyways so you'll know exactly what to expect race day.

Park at MapleSprings and ride down the rode and start your climb with BlackStar. BTW it'll have to be a shuttle since your starting and ending two different places.

Sounds good! I want to see if this 32-18 gearing can make it (with me on top). If I can get through those miles, then I'm single-speeding CC w/ the present gearing. I really don't want to do CC on gears ... so this will be major motivation!

You can do it Sauce. Take your time, hike when you need to and enjoy the scenery. Parking a car at the bottom of Motorway is a great idea. Bring a sandwich and leave it in the car. We did this ride again on Saturday. The weather was great, especially compared to two weekends ago. Your legs will be screaming, but just dig through it. You can do it!!! I'll be racing on Saturday, but I might do it on Sunday. I'll have to see how I'm feeling.

enjoy the ride

I'll be out riding around Blackstar-Motorway, Maple Springs, the peak breaking in the new bike. I haven't decided the route or the time. That probably depends on the number and quality of the beer on Friday night.

Yup, you need an adventure pass but we'll only need a car or 2 to park up there with some water. Other than that we'll need to leave some cars at the end of Trabuco Canyon.
Jose - I know you're up for this, its going to be a hardcore ride my friend!

8am Saturday. That's what we've been doing it seems ... unless Sunday works for Justin? I could go either way ... I'd just like to see everyone out there! The sandwhich thing is a good idea, because when I ride for hours like that stupid gu's and bars just don't do the trick. :-) I need real food! Wow - I'm stoked about this ride. What race are you doing Andy?

I'll be doing Fontana XC on Saturday. If this ride gets postponed till Sunday, I'm in. If not, enjoy the sandwich's and try to have fun!

The problem with Sat. is this: we'll be shot Sunday. So we lose a good day of weekend riding ...

Sunday has a 60% chance of rain. 30% chance of showers on Saturday.

Sounds like we're better off on Saturday. Sarah, if you want some more mileage (to cover for Sunday) that can be arranged
