Default Holy Jim! It's Saturday

Sorry, bit of a Batman flashback....sooooooooooooo, we mentioned riding Holy Jim up and back, then West Horsetheif to Trabuco after the last Black Star ride.

Is anyone up for it? If not for training, then just for s*** and giggles? Start time 8/9ish? (please let me get some sleep)

Can't do Saturday but there's a few peeps up for Sunday. MotorwayX2 was mentioned but this would be good too.

Motorway x2? Black Star-Motorway-Maple Springs-Motorway?

I'd have to see if I can get out there. I know that John can't make it, as he's doing trail work....

K, let me know if you can....I need to try going down Holy Jim, and I'd prefer to do it prior to March.

Hoag's over-rated....you should go to Saddleback instead--great LDR rooms

Hey, I might be down for this ride. What route are you taking exactly? It's been awhile since I'v been up there. But it sounds like you're doing UP Holy Jim > Main divide and then down Upper Holy Jim > Holy Jim? Just wondering if you were summitting Santiago Peak too.

Thanks.

Holy Jim is in mucho excelente shape thanks to Wariors last weekend. Much Hike-a-bike on Horesthief but only a couple miles long, quickest way up to do Trabuco.

Riding to the Peak will depend on the group. I've heard the climb up to Upper Holy Jim is a biatch, but ignorance is bliss, so I'm willing right now

Anyone questioning the ride/length of ride should know that I have at least one rider whom would like to cut out after Holy Jim; so that is an option.

I'll be there. Either 8 or 9 start time is fine with me. I assume we're meeting at the dirt parking lot at Trabuco Canyon Rd / Trabuco Creek Rd?

Cut out the fireroad? But we don't even know if it's going to be windy yet! But if we do drive to the trailhead, let's definately do Upper Holy Jim.

I vote for meeting at the trail head; we can meet there later then? 9am? And, do Upper Holy Jim (so I can biatch and moan about the climb later--heeheeh).

I'm trying to get to the top of Santiago peak tomorrow. Any suggestions? I have never been back there.

The easiest bike ride is to go up Maple Springs Road or Harding Truck Trail to 4 corners then on to the top. I like the Harding climb better. From the gate on Maple Springs it is 12+ miles one way and 4000 ft climb. Not sure about Harding i think it is a tad shorter but has more elevation gain.

Or you could just drive up there if the gate is open and tease the group riding up Holy Jim.

You need to edit that, as the easiest way up is to drive

I like Maple Springs better too, though don't be fooled by the asphalt; it is much less steep on the dirt.

Or, you can climb with us up Holy Jim, then around the very steep (from what I've been told) Main Divide to the top.
