Jan 6th Training Ride?

Anyone up for burning off the Xmas excess and getting back in tune with the VQ/CC training this weekend?
I'll be jet lagged to hell and have only done 2 small rides in 3 weeks but I'd like to do Blackstar to Motorway then head up Maple Springs as far as my legs will take me.

A few of us were talking about Harding/Joplin this weekend. I'm getting burned out on Blackstar/Motorway. I'll train more on it since it's the route for CC/VQ but just not this weekend.

Still others were talking about SJT on Sunday. Adam's earlier report of the lower switchbacks being "fast and tacky" makes this ride sound all the better.

San Juan to los pinos is one of the best training rides there is for the VQ. A long steady climb then for endurance then the climb up the wall and lots of technical DH and hike a bike to get you ready for West horse theif. im think about riding it this weekend.

I did that route a few months ago during a hot summer day. That route will definately test your endurance. The hike a bikes are muscle burning climbs.

All the cool kids will be doing Harding/Joplin on Sunday . You're strong, you could do both.

I'm cool, but I ain't that strong. I'll probably do the Harding/Joplin ... so that's good single-track? How many miles?

I was planning on trying Blackstar/Motorway as well...maybe we should just do little groups of 3 rides and meet up for lunch (hahah).

Well CalEpic is proposing Harding/Joplin for Sunday. So I still want to do Blackstar/Motorway on Saturday and maybe CalEpics ride on Sunday too.

I'll be pretty cream-crackered from jet lag and 'excess Xmas baggage' to do something 'heavy' like San Juan/LP - how about that the following weekend?
