Maybe Sir Gurp remembers better, but we went up Mathis, then over to TOW, then came back, we took the singletrack down to Telonics rode this all the way down, then we hooked up with some guy going back up pushing a brand new sweet Rocky Mountain. From there we rode over to Rock-it and had a blast riding down that. My bottom bracket by this time could be heard by most people in the park, but we decided to go back up Cholla then descend back down Lynx. We had to call it a day here as my bb was about to give it up, and I didn't feel like hiking.
Sorry we missed you, we didn't get there till 9:30 am. |

I was told Telonics was now a legitimate trail??? Otherwise I would have abided by the fight rules.
You should of seen ol Sir Gurp. I was very impressed by him today. Shiat, he even tried a thing or two I passed on. Naw, we left them RAD trails alone. ( I was tempted, I won't deny it.) |

I don't know how much you should believe of what Mike says. He bought a carbon fiber bottle cage today and said it's so he can keep up with me. He exaggerates a little. I will admit that I *do* see myself progressing. When last I rode Rockit and Lynx, I had to stop and walk sections, but not today. I also made it up that rocky hop up section that's on the little singletrack that parallels the canyon main road on the way back toward Cholla. And, speaking of Cholla, I did dab at one point but otherwise made that, too. I stopped paying attention at one point and my front tire wandered toward the edge.
Mike's right about our trip, though. I don't know what the singletrack was called, exactly, but the local dude told us it was Telonics. That was fun. I didn't ride it fast, or anything. But, I made it down in one piece. I think riding all those Angeles trails has helped me learn a lot about technical stuff. Oh, and my WTB Weirwolf. I love this front tire!!! Have I said that? I was pushing it along the flat section up top of Rockit, trying to keep up Pain Freak of course, and my tire washed out around a turn. But, it bit right back in and I stayed up (luckily, cause there were some freakishly fast dudes on hardtails that were sucking my wheel!). I love you, Weirwolf. My Fire XC Pro would have had me down in the dirt and getting my ass runned over!

Oooh, I hope so.
See, Mike, they can tell that I did that on purpose. (Either that or nobody else is reading this thread. ) When you know the rules of the language you can then bend them to your purpose. As I tell my students, you need to learn the rules so you can start breaking them.
