Chantry Flats and Beyond! 12-31-06

Greetings All!
Myself and some freinds are hitting the "secret" Chantry Flats loop in Pasadena on Sunday am. We are looking at a 3 hour plus ride so bring a snack and plenty of h2o, there are some hike a bike spots.
Planning on meeting at the Carls Jr. at Tustin and the 91 at 7am and carpooling to the trailhead. Here's a link to the map on the meeting spot:

We are planning a pretty mellow pace so all are welcome to join, the more the merrier!
The trail is fairly technical in spots both going up and down, I've been told suspension and gears are a good thing on this trail!

Its a joke, hence the quotation marks around the word secret plus it adds some excitement to the title!

A riding buddy is moving and wants to hit this one more time before he leaves, I've never been there but heard good things about the trail, can't wait!

The geoladders route bypasses the good stuff on Sturtevant. The Gabrielino from the Zion junction to Chantry is a easy & fun ride.

You guys make sure you come out for the next trail maintance day out there. First Sunday of each month.

I hope Brian is arrainging for a BBQ at the Pack Station. It will be mostly riding to enjoy our work...because the work is near done.

The next event is January 7th. I think you guys will find there is a lot less hike-a-bike out there now.

The February 5th event will be a BBQ fun ride. Hope you guys can make it to the January 7th event to help us finish off the trail.

U could live some cars on the meet spot of Studervant. than Shuttle to the top?

I say mostly XC but some parts are very technical so nice suspension is much needed!! and yes u can just show up and ride

Hey Tom,

We are going down thru studervant. We will be at the trailhead around 7:45 - 8:00, kind of depends on how quick we meet and pile into cars.
If you want I can give you my cell# to give a more accurate time frame Sunday am.

I vote for meeting up on Santa Anita and Foothill or Sycamore Ave than drive up to the trail head so we can do Sturlivant. Thats after hooking up on OC of course
