Just out of curiousity, how many miles is this ride? How many hours will we be out there? I have to plan for food and water.

Hey, I think lady SScheetz and I will be there. I haven’t done the Louge in a long time, from what I remember it’s a very short descent, but pretty fun while it lasts. Maybe I’ll convince her to bring her SS.

If we do the whole thing its about 22 or 23 miles with many climbs!! Wend it took me 2:45 hours to do STT/LUGE/OLD CAMP this was slow pace so it may not take us that long to do it all. ahh yeah Whitting will be another hour or so.

this link shows a little somm somm about this route!

Vince, it goes by fairly fast. Jose's estimate is right what I'd think. You all might have to split into 2 groups as there are some real rabbits in this mix.

Riders to watch for getting to the top first:

Singletrack
Justin
SSheetz (he'll probably wait for the missus)
Upchuck

Wow, this ride could turn out to be real interesting. Some very fast folks going here.

So Mike, since you've ridden this before, should I bring the rigid 32:18 or front suspended 32:20?

I want to enjoy the downhill sections without having to slow down too much, but I also don't want to be overgeared for a relaxing climb.

Only one harder part, climbing Modjeska Grade to Santiago TT, I'm thinking you could handle this easy enough. Nothing here that requires much suspension, but there are a few play areas where you'd like to have it, so I'd bring the suspension if possible gear it to the 32:18. I'm set up with 32:20 and some of it I spin out on. Either will work.

I've got a brown ridgid steel fork from my Monocog 29er that I will let go for about $20.
