I too am off from 12/23 - 1/02. I would like to do this ride on a weekday as there are alot of hikers on the weekends. Suggest which day works for you if you want to roll. Hopefully there's alot of interest so we can setup some carpools.

BTW - I hiked up the Iron Mtn trail and it's worth the hike-a-bike.

OK. Iron Mountain Trailhead at 10:30am on Tuesday the 26th. If you want to carpool from Orange County meet in the Ralph's parking lot off of Highway 74 and the 5 at 8:30am (5 south go right on hwy 74 exit, left on del obispo, look for Ralph's on left side). For directions to trailhead look here:

Oh man, I wish I had noticed this thread earlier. I really need to work but at the same time I really need to make this ride. Work will probably win out but I am going to see what I can do.

WTF, do we have to work for money? Can't we just log miles for money? Like say 50 dollars a mile or something like that? Now that would be a dream job.

you missed an incredible ride. Muy tech up and down. Anyone that's a rock hound and loves tech will fall in love with this place. The hikers thought we were crazy. They kept saying "You're not going to ride your bike down this are you?" I'm guessing we only rode around 10 miles but it sure felt like more. Lot's of hike-a-bike up. I would feel nekkid without armor here. I'll add some pics later.
