San Juan Trail - Nightride 12/22/06

Just tossing around the idea of a night ride at San Juan Trail. Because of the holiday weekend, hopefully, most of us can bail from work early and meet at the trailhead late afternoon, say, 3-4 pm. By doing this, we don't have to waste battery life on the climb. When we're done climbing, we can turn around, flip on the lights and descend back to the cars. Reply back to this post if you're interested. If there are enough people who are willing to come along, I'll create a more detailed post.

Wow, that sounds like a blast. I'd have to come over the 74 though. Anybody know how long it would take on a Friday afternoon? I've never done SJT in the dark.

Oh I have been wanting to hit this one, let me crunch some numbers and see if I can sneak out early.

I think I'll have to call off this ride. I don't think I'll be able to escape from work in time. We'll just have to do a SJT night ride another time.

It turns out I also got work that day.I could probably make it around 6 or 6:30.Is that too late?If not maybe we could do a quick dash up to Beeks and back.

Yeah, I might ride up to Beeks from the other side, if I can get out a little early. I'll be riding by myself and I'm a little concerned when I do that. It's a fireroad climb, but some of those damn bushes have eyes and it's very nerve wracking when those same said bushes start to move and make noise.

I spoke with a guy on Blackstar Wednesday. He had climbed up that way, dropped the motorway and was then climbing back.
The last two times I have ridden Blackstar I have come across large paw prints that are wide and have no claw showing. Glad I had the dog with me.
