Made a last minute decision, did not want to freeze on local rides today and went to palm springs and did dunn rd to hans buenavista to claire burgess, 17.5 mi.. Ballllls baby ! 70 degrees and sunny. beautiful desert riding , technical s/t.
Looks like next Sun 12/24, up dunn to hans buena vista to cindy whitehead . Anyone interested let me know. I will post later in the week.

Never been riding in that area and I have wanted to do it without doing the whole Palm Canyon Ride. Problem is I am leaving for Arizona on Friday.

Are the sections of trails you are riding going to be closed for lambing? Or is that just Art Smith?

It's not technically closed, they just ask you stay away. As long as we stay on the established routes, I don't think we bother the sheep.

When: Dec 24th,
Time: 8am, meet at Imax theater parking lot, corner of 111 and cathedral cnyn.
Carpool: Ont Mills off the 15 frwy for carpooling at 6:30 a.m. in the edwards movie theater lot at the ne corner.

The ride: Up Dunn road, up and down Hans to cindy whiteheads trail back to car. About 17 mi.. Dunn rd is a stout climb, hans is a grin from ear to ear, cindys is a technical butt puckerrrrr.

I will post an art smith ride after xmas probably for wed along with a tunnel run to Santa Barbara on sat. 909-921-7924

I don't have any slime in my tubes, I have those tuffy liners and have done the palm canyon ride 4 times and have only suffered one flat which was from pinching my tire due to not enough air, if you stay on the trail you are fine, but there are cacti around so be careful!

Slime can't hurt, although I have never used it on these rides and have not had a problem as long as I stay on the trail. Just stay away from the cacti and watch out for the cacti bulbs that can drop on the trail.
