Default Great ride in Santa Monicas

For any of you who've never had the pleasure, you really have to try the Los Padres/Los Robles/Sycamore Cyn ride. I just finished showering up and am still pretty worked from the ride.

Here's our route:
Park at the Los Robles trailhead at the south end of Moorpark Rd in Thousand Oaks.
Ride down Moorpark Rd to the first cross street and hang a right on Los Padres Rd.
Access the Los Padres trailhead on your right.
Ride up singletrack to fireroad. Right on fireroad to first right turn.
Ride up doubletrack/fireroad to first 4-way intersection.
Left at intersection and descend singletrack to fireroad.
Descend fireroad to first left turn (Los Robles trail).
Climb Los Robles and ride it to Potrero Rd.
Cross Potrero and access singletrack on other side.
Ride singletrack to Wendy Rd trailhead.
Ride into Sycamore Cyn and do whatever loop you prefer.
We did Sin Nombre/Two Foxes/Coyote to Wood Cyn FR. Right on Wood Cyn to Guadalasco ST. Climbed Guad over to Backbone ST. Descended Backbone.
Afterwards we retraced our route back to the cars parked at Moorpark.

All told, a little over 40 miles of good ol' SoCal riding.

Did just that two years ago...
It's at the black paved road climbing out of Sycamore that you start to feel it. Then those climbs up the white fence coming back on LosRobeles that your really done.

If anybody get's a chance and you don't mind a sutttle; a great ride is to start at Mishe Mokwa trailhead (near Circle-X Ranch) and ride the Backbone trail East all the way to Malibu Creek St. Park. it's about 30 miles and takes 6-8 hours.

I don't believe that section of the backbone is open to bikes.

Yes it is open. starting below Circle-X. Mishe Mokwa trailhead heading East, but, there's about a mile of road you have to ride after Mishe Mokwa's two miles.
What's closed is backbone East of Pt Magu Park up to Sandstone peak.

I think next time I'll start at the Triunfo trailhead. Should be a nice addition.
