I do not run Boone cogs and expensive drivelines and hubs to listen to them being destroyed buy the mud and water. It was when I first started riding and I did not now any better. Later, I fealt bad riding out there I could see my bike tracks (ruts) in the road the rest of the summer. Right after you leave the houses and start the climb some of my ruts turned into ditchs...it was one of El Nino years.

That is what it was like this year at VQ. Last year it was even worse.

too bad no pics of me dropping in that huge f'n mud puddle at bottom after trying to ride/thread the "coping" of that massive puddle, err lake!. Should have walked it around or tried to blast through that knee deep sh!t. i looked like a black & white cookie after that

I'm going to park at the MS lot and ride down with some friends and hopefully meet up with you. Since I haven't riden with any of you I'm hoping to recognize some familiar faces based on pics from previous rides.

Who plans on doing the second part of this ride, MS or possibly going to the peak? I think I'm the only one from our group, but it would be nice to have some company on the second climb.

It was the few the crazy and the crazy today. C-man, Justin, Jeff, Troy with his buddies & me. It was Blackstar up to the top than Down Motorway. There was clouds and fog above peaks but the dirt was nice and packed!! Blackstar totally kicked my ass today and I have no excuses!! Everyone seem to have done great trough the whole ride! No techs and no casualties after Motorway we rode up on Mapple Springs but decided to call it a day a few feet before the dirt Fire road. Troy kept on riding on to meet his buddy up to 4 corners! The rain started to come down heavy by this time but trough the whole ride it was nice and decent and not even heavy winds to keep us from riding!! Over all it was a great ride!! kicked my ass but I still came up with a nice smile!! it was cool meeting Troy and company!! lets ride again ehh

Sounds like a hardcore ride there Jose! Nothing like riding in a bit of rain to test your determination!
Mind you its pouring with rain here and I have no intention of turning a wheel!

It was nice riding with you guys. I was glad I parked at the MS lot since I was able to get a warm jacket and a dry jersey for Maple Springs to 4 corners. My friend Mark rode over from the top of Motorway to 4 corners then down Maple Springs. He was almost to the pavement when I saw him. Then he turned around and climbed about 1/2 way up MS with me! The weather got wet towards the top near 4 corners and then I had steady rain all the way down. I had that warm jacket and I was still cold.

Look forward to riding with you guys again.
