I set my alarm for a 9:30 start, looks like JPL has fallen apart. To late for me to get to Strawberry from Laguna ....you all enjoy your ride and think about a Watermam ride before next weeks X-mas party. I should have gotten out of bed when I first woke up, but the wind was strong it was solid overcast...looked like more rain.

Dean,
We met some hikers on the trail today and they said Waterman was snow bound. They were unable to even go there. A faint bit of snow was out at Strawberry. Cucamonga Peak has a lot of snow on it and it's a lot lower then Waterman. Still by next weekend it maybe rideable.

Bummer waited too long to get to Waterman. The trail up Waterman is North slope and sees very little sun, that is what makes the forest soooo nice in that section. There has been times that I was able to ride the snow up other times I would break through and stop. My guess was that it was a dusting and could be ridable by next weekend. Trouble is you cann't see the embedded rocks in the snow, good news is that when you go down the snow is a soft landing.
