Nam, I've got a small frame 15" Turner 02, it has 3' travel in the back and 5 up front. Big Betty tire for some great tracking. Let me know and I'll get her set up.

CC, Jose, Dean, why don't we meet over at Incycle at say 7:30? If you want to get a bite to eat, that should give us enough time. There's an IHOP and a Denny's real close, but Sundays are usually a wait. Maybe not at that time of the morning though.

Heavy rain cancels, light rain is still a go. Bring a shell or a vest, might be a little residual moisture on the bushes which could get us a little wet.

Looks like it's shaping up to be a good size group. This ride is realitively short, so some folks might elect to ride something else after the ride. I might be up for another shuttle or something else as there is a lot of stuff to ride in the area.

In Tom's post he believes that the trail is still a mess. Who has riden it recently and what shape is it in?

For breakfast, maybe something not so far out of the way for me, I normaly come up the 605 to the 210.

$#!&$%#........I might not be able to ride Sunday. My daughter sprung me w/a project she has to do. I am going to see if there is any way for me to get her shuttled to where she needs to go.

Wow! I should have been back here sooner!! Glad to see the interest!!

Yes, the trail is in good condition. I see that some rain is on the way, the trail will be perfect if it gets a little moist... Yes, bring a shell and you ought to be comfy the whole way.

The meet spot is the JPL parking lot. From the O.C. get up the 605 to the 210 west, go through Pasadena and stay to the right to catch the 210 to La Canada. Exit Windsor Ave/Arroyo Blvd and turn right, go about a mile to the lot. From the west side take either the 405 north to the 101 east to the 134 east or the 10 east to the 110 north to the 5 north to catch the 2 north. Take the 2 up to the 210 and head east to Pasadena for about 4 miles to the Windsor/Arroyo exit, turn left and go up to the lot.

I drive a red Dodge 4x4 and I ride a baby blue Intense, see ya all there!

We'll be shuttling up, even though this trail is downhill it will still zap most of you by the time it's over!

Pain - what is a realistic return to Incycle. I'm trying to work it out so that I can go.

From the JPL lot it's about 25 minutes. This is sizing up to be about 8 or more people so I's say it'll take about 2 and 1/2 hours to decend back to the lot with no flats or mechanicals.

To ride this from the JPL lot as a loop ride would be nothing less than an uber epic. I had a couple of friends try to do it prior to our night ride, they parked at the entrance to the forrest and acended the 2 hwy until we caught them, they had started late. The other way would be ride up Brown and over to Melard campground to catch the Cheney Trail and take that to the top and the Wilson Road and head back down to the Red Box lot. ETA for that, ummmm About 2hours - 45 minutes There is also riding road over to Cheney and going up from there, ooof! That frist 3/4 mile to the entrance is a SLAM, and then the first 40 minutes of Cheney is also a slam... Go fo it if ya like! )

So why dont we all meet in one place and those that want to ride up can do so and the others can shuttle. I'm hoping to go but I'll see how I feel after tomorrows major ride.

There is no lack off options to add more miles from JPL Lot after the shuttle.

Brown Mountain / El Preito is the closest. The Merrills / Sunset are a ridge away. Climbing Mt. Lowe Toll Road is always fun.

Lets try to not make this too complicated. Now back to the important stuff...where are we meeting for breakfast?

Robert clearly posted this as a shuttle ride, then all the climbers want to change the ride by posting their alternative routes, etc, etc. This is what irritates me when posting rides on this site. If you want to ride a different route, then post a different ride or don't post it and just go ride by yourself. Rant over.
