Sorry, J, I can't get leave from my XO. But, that doesn't stop me from hijacking a perfectly good thread.

I think Gurp needs to make up for his insurrections and ride with us. If his XO puts a foot down tell him to tell his wife he got the speech.

I can handle getting the speech from you guys. But, from her, I get THE LOOK. I can't handle the look.

Tell you what. I get all week Dec. 18-22 to ride. Plus I can prolly ride those weekends, too. So, let's plan something good and I'll be there. But, I gotta show my gurl the 'spect she deserves. After all, I live with her, I only ride with you guys.

Jose and I have a pretty twisted sense of humor, and the fact that I was incoherently rambling, and with all my pads, pack and helmet strewn everywhere he probably found my dirt angel inspiring.

Another good question is was Gonzo's first response to pull out his camera?

My RR is short since it was my first time there. All I can say is that going up Cholla is a bitch and that coming down Mathis was fun.

Come on now, just because it was your first time there doesnt mean you can't bust out a good RR. ;oP

Going down Mathis was fun? Who led you down Mathis? Why did you guys not go down Rock-It or Lynx? Not sure I understand why you guys would descend a fireroad when there are at least two "legal" bitchin' singletracks you coulda taken.

I didn't take any pictures, but since no one else is posting, I'll go ahead. After we finally met up with the others, someone didn't look at the link for the meeting spot.......oh yeah, that would be me , we made our way to Mathis. Turnout was Craig, Aldo, Jose, Jared, Cathy, my brother Joe, and myself. Forgive me if I left anyone out. This was Cathy's first time out there, and on her new green machine! Jose was hammering the SS, and I was on my Enduro, with 6", and a single 36T ring up front, Mathis sucked. Got to the top, headed over to Lynx, ahhh, it's good to have all that travel. Craig and Aldo parted ways at this point. Went over to Cholla, man it suck's having all that travel! I cleaned Cholla, so I was pretty happy with that. Headed over to Rock-It, was once again reminded how much fun that bike is. Next time I make it down that way, I'll take the XC bike, climbs should be easy, right? No mishaps, and it was great to meet Jared, Craig and Aldo. It was even fun to meet up with Jose again! I definitely need to get out and meet more of you. Always fun to meet and ride with new people.

I have the names mixed up then, what I thought was Mathis was not a fireroad.

Ahhh, I see. I was gonna say, whoever led you guys down "Mathis" should be disciplined, lol. Glad you guys had fun. Aliso is a great place with lots of variety.

Cholla is pretty steep, ironically it never feels as bad the 2nd time you go up it the same day....don't ask me why, but I swear it isn't as tiring.

Chappy, Craigger, did you guys hit StairSteps?

i don't think they did it that day, but i tried it out for the first time... had a huge endo on the first drop since i was carrying too much speed and hit this upward pointing rock that jammed my front tire.. i hiked back over the drop and hit it again and cleaned the rest of the trail. pretty dang fun, but that hike up sucks
