Shinken - a great Aliso loop is up Mathis, down Rock-it, up Cholla, down Lynx and back along the Cayote run. Thats a great loop and weighs in at sub 90mins if you dont stop for too long.

<edit> Wait, I just read this again. Dean, where do I ride Saturday? This is a Saturday thread! Dangit! I don't think I have to choose this weekend between the two days because my wife is having a Pampered Chef party and so I get to make myself scarce on Saturday. So, I'm pretty sure I can do that Sunday, too. I just need to be back home by 3pm for church.

I am somewhat familiar with Aliso. Looks like the plan is to meet around 8:30, ride Dripping Cave to Mathis, down Lynx, up Cholla, down Rock-It, and perhaps up and down Meadows if we're feeling up to it.

Hey Jose,
I'll be there but starting around 7:30 am. I've heard the route described previous is pretty fun and fast....maybe I'll see you on the trail?

Glen,
I'm about 90% right now for Chantry. I have an appointment in the afternoon that I'm trying to change. I have to be home before 2:30 on Sunday, so I'm pretty sure I'm up for this one.

i can play trail-guide. but i need to bail @11am. that would give us plenty of time if we start riding by 8:30am. i'd prefer to start riding earlier, but realize some of you are commuting from the inland empire.
if you guys want to ride longer, i can lead you in the right direction and we can part ways. p.s. forgot to mention, i'd recommend not skipping 5-oaks. |

Gurpy, I'd recommend joining Dean & PF up at Chantry if you've never done this loop b4. There's a nice little tech section as you drop into Hoagee's camp. Zion is a hike a bike to the peak but it's fun dh on the Gabrielino. The trail is in very good shape being that Chantry was closed most of the year.
I'd join you guys for some trail work but I'm going to be at Bootleg. |

ran into aldo and craig on canyon vistas and also ran into dubjay and friends there today..then dean popped up out of no where while i was padding up for steps. I ended up going down 5 oaks which didn't seem too bad at all, its still sandy but its not too loose. On steps i had the greatest freakin endo ever and got bucked off my bike at the first rock drop. Somehow i landed on my feet so i went back up and tried it again. Ended up cleaning the rest of the trail. For being the first time doing down it, its not too bad and super fun..

Good seing you guys on the trail today. Nam glad you survived Steps...if I would of had my camera I would have gone down with you guys to take pictures. I would of like to have gotten a picture of you doing the Superman.
Was hoping to run into more of you guys, I pedaled in from home so I came up Canyon Acres. The local downhill youngsters were out in force on the extra credit singletracks that paralells the fireroad. There is some seriously steep stuff out there and they were hitting the jumps hard....major hang time. Again I do not know why I left my camera at home.
