Default Nov. 25th Red Box Ride

For those who put away turkey and fixins' like a fat kid who loves his twinkies, lets do Red Box next Saturday!

If you are in town and want to ride I'm willing to guide any who've not been on this trail, lets try to meet up at 9am at the JPL parking lot and we can work out the shuttles then.

This is a 13 mile single track of mostly downhill meanderings, a great deal for only 25 minutes of driving to the top trailhead! I just went through it last weekend and the trail is in good shape with only a couple of areas that have a bit of growth, and the poison oak was no issue.

So is that to say the hike-a-bike sections heading down to JPL on the Gab are cleaned up and rideable?

Default Just what i need, a guide

I have always wanted to ride there but never have. Definatly interested. Especially a shuttle to the top havent been on a ride in three weeks.(boo) 9am is a bit early for me. But I would like to try and make it. Look for a more solid response later this week.

Yup! The "rock quory", as I call it, has a ridable trail through it. I know 9am is perhaps a bit early but I have an SC game to catch later, if all could be on time and fairly ready to go that would be great. By ready to go I mean, bike ready to roll with air in tires and chains lubed, pedals proper, shirts fresh from dry cleaners... lol

Anyway, for those who don't know where the JPL lot is... From the Valley, take the 5 or 101 to the 134 into Glendale. Take the 2 north to the 210 east. Exit Windsor Ave./Arroyo and head left to the mountains (north). Drive about a mile to a parking lot on the left side. Generally there are a ton of people at this time and parking can be tough, there is a street accross from the lot that has more parking. If you are coming from the south, get to the 605 north to the 210 and take that west. Once in Pasadena stay to the right side and take the 210 I think to Sacramento or Foothill/La Canada. Exit Windsor/Arroyo and turn right. Bring your adventure passes if you got them.

I won't be able to make. With my current sleep schedule 9 am is just plain to early for me. I hope you all have a good time. Thanx for the post. may be next time.
