Talking Wednesday Ride 8th Nov

Dear all of STR,
I hereby invite you all to a ride at Drumlanrig, its a red/black route with plenty of forest single track, jumps, some north shore and rock gardens, located in the grounds of Drumlanrig Castle.

Hopefully it will not rain (who am I kidding) but expecting it to be cold (high of 50F)

The downside, If your reading this you are too late for your flight to the UK.

Hope you all have a great week, I'm on leave, riding Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun and snowboarding Thur and Fri pm. My brother and a friend up for a long weekend.

Rik

Is Drumlanrig Castle on the west side of L.A.? Never mind, it's that castle on the way up to Big Bear, right? UK? I'm totally lost now. Man, you have a busy week planned, have fun.

Such a tease. That sounds like a lot of fun. 50f doesn't really bother me but I know Mike rides best in temps of 80-110.

Drumlanrig castle is weird riding. Very slow trails that switch back and to through the woods, some tricky technical bits but I found it a little slow.
I mapped the first half of the red/black and put it on Geoladders.

I added some pics too

Cheers Keith,
Will try it out anyway, think the others are set on going there, Glentress red on Saturday anyway, they have done good things to Spooky Wood.

RikDH - As you're doing Glentress red and Drumlanrig why not sign up on Geoladders and post your times?
You msut be somewhere near Glasgow so there are a fair few routes on there to compare your times on. We did Glentress red in about 90mins.

Red at Glentress is so much fun, almost the perfect blend of ups and downs

Hey how you doing, Thursay I'm coaching on a local Dry Ski Slope then Friday I'm going to Xscape (Friday nights are free ride nights), an indoor snow slope amongst other things, check the link out. Glasgow btw.
If its anything like the last few years the mountains will not be opened til after the new year.

Take care.

Will have a look but to tell you the truth we stop and play so many times it takes us ages to get round anything, we have a local route, Loch Sloy, should only take hour twenty, but we can spend half a day there, theres a brillant slab with 5 descents, four foot boulders, drop offs, you get my drift.

That f'n crazy. heard they are building an indoor halfpipe in vegas with real snow. You should hit SoCal on your next holiday. ONe of the few places you can truly snowboard, mtn bike (and surf) in the same day. no snow yet this season locally (other parts of county getting some decent dumpings) but have a few shots of boarding in Chile in pic section of board
