Where is the candy store?
Should I bring the Bullit or Tracer? I'm thinking Bullit.
Ortega Highway (HWY74). Store is on right side, parking on the left. You need adventure pass to park. If you don't have one, they sell them at the candy store.

You will need Google Earth installed on your computer to view file.

Bullit.

No Dean is not. I like very slow paced rides and don't want to slow you guys up.

If you're looking for a slower ride, I'm going with some guys up from the lower parking lot to Blue Jay and back down...nice easy slow pace (cause I suck)

San Juan Trailhead at 8am??

I can go any time sunday so let me know what time you like.
Hey guys,

New to this forum but I was posting in MTBR to find some guys into doing a local Shuttle Run. Ive ridden SJ/Blue Jay quite a few times (just not in the last 3 years due to an injury). I'm bummed I cant join you Sunday because of other commitments but Im in for the next one!!!

I may have read wrong, but you aren't starting at the candy store are you? Though its only from memory, I don't recall ever riding from there when shuttling. We would leave one car at the lower parking lot (which is back behind the fire/ranger station) looking up at the switch-backs. And the other car at the trail heads (which was not on Ortega HWY but off another road....can't remember the name) after making a left turn (coming from OC) somewhere passed the candy store and traveling maybe 5 miles up it. Sorry I don't remember the name of the road, but I will look around to see if I have it somewhere.... Anyway, we would park off that road in a small lot on the left (in front of a wooden fence and some very large old tree.....with the meanest flys I've ever encountered)! God I hope my memory isn't too shot....lol.

Perhaps someone else knows where Im talking about? I think 3 trail heads were there (or started nearby). In any event, its one very long down hill from there!

Im sure you know where it is with the GPS and all, just thought Id chime in just in case.

Well please post the next shuttle as I would like to attend. Also trying to rally a shuttle to Nobel Canyon

Thanks for the invite but I think I will pass. Years back, I used to ride San Juan a couple times a month. I still ride it once in awhile during the weekdays. On the weekends I leave it to the Shuttle Monkeys.

Proxy they are doing something different than the classic Blue Jay to Forest Station Shuttle. They will start at Blue Jay and end at the Candy Store.

It's probably n. main divide because if you turn right it's south main divide. It used to be called killens rd. a few years back.

This is sounding really good. Unless some crazy disaster occurs during my fork oil change, I'll be there.

Checklist:
  • Let's see now, hanging my frame from the rafters seems like a good idea...
  • Just a little more force with this pry bar should do the trick...
You are so screwed now.

We'll see you next time around. I'll take pics for you.

I'm in and I'll be driving up from the Lake Elsinore side. Is that candy store marked in case I happen to pass it on the way up?
