Flight Line on Sunday?

Anyone interested in riding Flight Line on Sunday 9/24? We are planning on riding some of the trails pictured in the trail talk thread: Flight Line. Additionally, we would be exploring some of the other trails in the area.

after seeing those pix i really want to go check it out! what time are you planning on getting there? and once there, how long is the ride time going to be approximately?

I'm interested this weekend. I think I'll be free on Sunday morning. I'll be more definite tonight though.

It is about 40 minutes from I5 and 74. I don't mind getting an early start. The last time I drove down there, I left at 6:30 am. We could shoot for a 7:00 departure or meet down there at 8:00.

The ride time is really up to us. The area is small but has a lot of trails to explore. We spent a lot of time riding the five miles that we rode. Of course, it takes a lot of time to create a route for GeoLadders. Unless we ride the connector route to Caliveras, we will always be within a couple/few miles of the parking lot.

It sounds like we have four STR riders and possibly three GeoLadder riders that want to do this ride. Any ideas on carpools and/or meeting spots? I may ride down with CalEpic, however. If my truck is needed, I can drive as well. I can carry three bikes and two people. Also, if we are going to try to get maximum riders in fewest vehicles, we could meet in a shopping center on 74. If not, we could simply meet at the trail head.

I live down in Ladera Ranch, off the 5 and CrownValley.
I can meet up somewhere here or down there at the trailhead.

Since you called the ride Kentonn, it'd be fine by me if you make the call
as far as meeting points for us in the OC and the start time at the trailhead.

dave, i need to check with Rob, he and i usually drive together, there is a possibility of another caravan heading down that way. i shall keep you posted bro. i like the idea of getting there at 8 and heading out around 12:30ish.

I live off Antonio and Crown valley. We could probably meet at the shopping center on Del Obispo and Ortega Hwy. Seems like it would be on everyone's way to Carlsbad.

It will only take about forty minutes to get there so lets meet at 7:00. Add a little time for Sunday traffic on the way back. 12:30 - 1:00 should get you to Huntington by 2:00. Four and a half hours will give us some descent riding time. Since I already know where some of the fun stuff is, we won't have to spend as much time looking for it....

You guys are going to dig the descent from the skate park.

Well for me you live right at the half way point. I'll be rolling 80MPH by then. I'll stop if you need a ride but if not I'd think we should meet at the skatepark and be ready to ride at 8:00.

But if you want us all to meet there I'll go with the flow.

Cool, maybe I'll roll solo in case I have to dip out early, or Rob can ride with me and hitch a ride back with Craigger or Spooky or someone if they are cool with that.

I do not know the stores in the shopping center, however. For those that would like to meet up and carpool, we could meet in the shopping center on Del Obispo. If you are headed South on I5, exit at Ortega and turn right. Make your first left on Del Obispo, pass the fast food places, shopping center is on the left. We could meet there at 7:00 am.
