7:30-8 am meet at Hwy 2, up to chilao by 8:30 or so if all goes well- that should work for just about everyone i think- should be a helluva fun ride from lookin at dean's pics- can't wait to see what SoCal really has to offer!

then again, i kinda like early rides....let's get a consensus here- dean, can you make it by 7?

If we start early enough, maybe we can shuttle Redbox to Switzer's for some fun extra credit.

C'mon Dean, wake up early for this one.

I will do 8am, and Apex, no it is not the Pacific Crest Trail.

If you are very strong..cough...cough...Tom. I supose you could skip the fireroads (3N14 & 3N17) and just climb Silver Moccasin up Horse Flats and Mt. Hilyer.

All right you early birds. So what's the mileage and elevation gain on this party?

I have been there dozens of times, but have never taken the time to track it on my GPS. One loop would be about 10 miles and 1200 ft climb. My sugestion of a modified second loop would add another 6 or so miles and maybe another 800 ft of climbing. Many options to add more miles and climbing.

Remember this is a educated guess and mountain bikers are notorious liars. They are harmless little lies intended to trick people into going on death marches with us.

Bikes for this trail, Scott likes his RFX on this trail...I like my rigid singlespeed. There is one short climb that I have never seen anyone make it up...no long prolonged climbs on this ride. This is the flatest area that I can think of to ride in the San Gabriel's. Excluding the West Fork paved part to Cogswell Dam.

Ah, Silver Moc. That was the one, though I hopped onto that from Three Points and it be the PC trail there... At least that was what the signage said. Anyway, 8am is good for me (7am be better if anyone is still wrestling for that! ) Hmmm... My bike choice for this one will be my... "7 iron." -qoute from Tin Cup.

Yes the sign at Three Points says Pacific Crest Trail, if you drop off the West side of the parking lot pavement, by the bathrooms, go down P.C.T. about 100 feet the Silver Moccasin is on your right. Heading on S.M to the East is a no, no and is part of P.C.T. The section of S.M. going West does not get much bike use.

I have compromized to 8am, we from South Orange County have some miles to put in to get there..be kind to us. If some people want to start at 7am us from OC will catch up to ya on the second loop. GCMS Channel 5, private channel 12.

take the 210 to Hwy 2 in La Canada, go north on the 2 for about 1/4 mile, and we'll be parked on the east side of the road...I'm in the silver Tacoma w/ the Fisher in back. 714-767-4119 if anyone needs to reach me.

OK I see three different start times. 7, 7:30, and 8am. Can't we all just get along and settle on one start time. This is starting to get too complicated for me. Someone take controll and set a firm start time. Craig are you following this?

I posted a route suggestion earlier in post #6. Since Scott is coming and he always picks great routes let us figure that out when we get there. I am open to any sugestions.
