Just got back, lots of fun. They let my bike pass...

I also saw a couple of other people on DH/FR bikes. I think they won't let you up if you're in full body armor.

I rode Big Bear on a DH bike! Good riding with you Frank, nice to have the lifts again, although I'm not too sure how long it will last. I've heard that they have turned some people away, so I guess you have to catch them in the right mood.

Had a blast riding Summit again with DH bikes and full armour!
Nice riding with you Jason, you guys have mad skills through that loose and steep stuff. We had 5 Turner DHR's in our group today. Too bad nobody else from STR went up there, you guys missed out.

I doubt that Dean, but anyway I was having too much fun riding to take any pics.

what trails did you ride? I thought all the DH runs other then Fall Line were closed. Did you do Westridge and Summit run or just hit the hush hush ones?

It was only the hush hush trails, no riding of any kind allowed on Summit's property.

Tell me if I am wrong, but wasn't riding the hush hush trails one of the reasons they banded big bikes.

When I rode Siberia Creek Trail a couple of months ago I ran into the Forest Service Ranger who told me that they are watching what is going on concerning the trails at Big Bear and will close the lifts to all bikes if they find alot of bikes on unauthorized trails.

So they say, but a $25 million lawsuit against Snow Summit has a lot more to do with it. Believe it or not, a lot more trail maintenance gets done on the out of bounds trails than what Summit ever did on theirs, which was practically nothing. If I remember correctly, about 2 months after the announcement came that they were closing the lifts to big bikes, the Forest service said, oh yeah, it's because of the pirate trails too.

Just got word that they will NOT be allowing anymore DH bikes on the chair lift. At least I went once while it lasted.
