Glen, I'm up for starting from here. Let me know what time and we will ride together.

[quote=MTBRacer] CC, what time are you expected to be at the last stop? I'll make sure they keep the beer cold for you guys. Hey Franky, i'm not sure of the time becuz we're going to be testing out the tacos. How about if we give you a buzz from the road, we will have a better idea after we hit a few of them.

Am I right? I was planning to follow the route that BikeMetro.com gave me. It isn't always the best route to follow major arteries (big, busy roads), ie. Milliken and Mountain. So, this was the route I was going to follow...1. Start out WEST on MONTECA DR (13 ft., Slight Downhill) 2. Turn Left on ALMERIA AVE at 13 ft.(0.14 miles, Slight Downhill) 3. Turn Right on BASELINE RD at 0.14 miles(1.63 miles, Slight Downhill) 4. Continue on BASE LINE RD at 1.77 miles(1.02 miles, Flat) 5. Turn Left on BIKEPATH at 2.79 miles(1.20 miles, Slight Downhill) 6. Turn Right on FOOTHILL BLVD at 3.99 miles(0.52 miles, Rolling Downhill) 7. Turn Left on ETIWANDA AVE at 4.52 miles(0.46 miles, Slight Downhill) 8. Continue on TURN LANE at 4.98 miles(0.05 miles, Flat) 9. Turn Right on ARROW RTE at 5.03 miles(3.98 miles, Flat) 10. Turn Left on ARCHIBALD AVE at 9.01 miles(1.50 miles, Slight Downhill) 11. Turn Right on E 4TH ST at 10.51 miles(2.03 miles, Rolling Downhill) 12. Turn Left on N GROVE AVE at 12.54 miles(1.02 miles, Slight Downhill) 13. Continue on S GROVE AVE at 13.56 miles(2.03 miles, Slight Downhill) 14. Turn Right on E PHILADELPHIA ST at 15.59 miles(1.27 miles, Flat) 15. Continue on W PHILADELPHIA ST at 16.86 miles(1.72 miles, Flat) 16. Continue on PHILADELPHIA AVE at 18.58 miles(1.00 miles, Flat) 17. Turn Left on MONTE VISTA AVE at 19.59 miles(3.00 miles, Slight Downhill) 18. Turn Right on EUCALYPTUS AVE at 22.58 miles(1.03 miles, Flat) 19. Turn Left on PIPELINE AVE at 23.62 miles(0.13 miles, Slight Downhill) 20. Turn Left on EUCALYPTUS AVE at 23.75 miles(52 ft., Flat) 21. Turn Right on PIPELINE AVE at 23.76 miles(0.25 miles, Flat) Seems reasonable. Then, all we have to do is find that Bergerr Kang and we're there. Right?

I'm being a little conservative on the speed, maybe. I'm talking averages, too. I hit 31 mph going downhill the other day. Besides, remember who you're talking to! I'm slow! "Hey, guys, wait up!" Remember?
And, I don't have a "road bike", I have a hybrid mtb. So, I can't get into that super-efficient tuck with the drop bars. My bike forces me upright.

Chris and I will proabably be riding from the last stop in Rancho Cucamonga to Chino Hills in the morning instead of shuttling to the start. Maybe we can meet up somewhere.

We hit 44 mph coming down Lytle Creek this morning and that was going into a head wind.
CC and Chris where are you guys starting from? Gurp and I are leaving my house at 8 am. He posted his directions that we are going to take back a ways on this thread, if you're inclined maybe we could hook up on part of the route and all ride together. Scotty, there's always room for more. The bigger the group the easier the pedelling. Maybe before we get started from Chino we could run through the best way to ride to avoid any mishaps. Can we get a head count? So far it looks like: Chris Cathy Romeo Khai Myself Scott Glen And I'm not sure but a few others expressed interest.

BTW, You ride lytle creek? I ride up it occasionally all the way to the dirt road and come down at almost 50mph. It's very fun when you hit those few turns right down from the city and there are some really good views right past the city before you hit the end of the road. |
