Tasted the kool-aid....

I'm in-between projects for work and going out of town Wednesday so won't make much progress anyway....long story short, I'm planning on riding Tuesday afternoon, say 4:00.
Thinking one of the parks, maybe Aliso, El Moro, or Whiting/STT/luge. Nothing crazy or too hardcore, just want to get out and ride before going to South Texas, the land of heat and no mtb... Anyone interested? ![]() Sorry guys, I'm going to pass on the evening ride at Del Cerro...by the time I'd get back home and settled in, it'd be past my bedtime! ![]()

Got a few more votes for Aliso (sorry matt) so why don't we go there?
Lets say Aliso - Canyon Vistas (a.k.a. MILF park) entrance at 4:15. For the uninitiated: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.043259&om=1 All are welcome! Jordonsrealm don't worry about slowing anyone down. I know I'm just after an easy/moderate spin in beautiful SoCal, preferrably with some cool cats! No cadence or wattage monitors on this ride! I love showing people around there as it was where I first started riding when I got here. Besides, aliso has lots of options and if someone isn't "feeling it," the vehicles are an easy fireroad ride away...but that shouldn't be a concern today. Matt give me a ring if you need a ride, I could leave a few minutes earlier and pick you up (949-606-2466). tkblazer- Since I'm going out of town tomorrow I'd like to be done by 7 not getting going....maybe next time, I'm due for a whiting run ![]() On a side note regarding PF's post. Yeah, South Texas (where I grew up) is even worse than East Texas (where I went to grad school) as far as MTB. SoTex is much hotter and all the land is tied up in private ownership--farms and ranches--and they really don't like tresspassers ("I thought he was deer officer"). Houston does have a few spots for mtb but it is a BAYOU city that has been heavily urbanized...hence, the massive flooding when it rains hard. But it is funny how lots of those shops don't have a clue about mtb in the area. Let me know when/where you are going next time you head out there and I can give you some recs for mtb trails/road rides and/or for more mtb-oriented shops. Within the city, some of the bayous/reserviors have levee systems that are actually pretty extensive and more fun on MTB than you might imagine. Also, Ho Chi Min trail (aka Memorial Park) is probably the most popular place. Thing about TX mtb is you have to drive to it. Huntsville is pretty close and has decent trails I've heard. College Station is a bit farther (90 min) and a loop or two at ol'Lake Bryan would put a big smile on your face for an afternoon (this used to be our local spot). Bluff Creek Ranch in the "town" of Warda is one of my fave TX spots. Ranch devoted to free-range longhorn cattle and MTB. Good food and showers post-ride! And as you get closer to austin there are too many options to list. I still have some connections for both MTB and road out in TX, so seriously, next time you are out there let me know if you'll have time to work in a ride and I see what I can dig up. ![]()

No lights for I and I, either.
I figured the ride time would be somewhere around an hour or two. But honestly, didn't think that far ahead. I figured the group 'tude (and maybe hunger) would dictate exactly what and how long we ride.

Good riding with you guys!
Jordan, hope your moms is ok! It was good meeting you, however briefly. Can't really elaborate on an RR as I've still got some packing to do, but it was a great ride! I'm already looking forward to riding next week! ![]()
