Santa Ana River Trail - Sunday July 9

Meeting place for Sunday will be at the store/post office in Angeles Oaks @ 8am. Route hasn't been decided yet, we'll meet there and decide which route to take. There was also talk about shuttling it to avoid the climb back out.

one possibility would be to go up from the postoffice instead of down...the climb isn't bad and you can just turn around whenever you think you have enough miles behind you

Sunday works for me. Klutter scared me off with his climbing the singletrack at the end stuff. Then SScheetz suggests that some start from the bottom...so I figure that Sunday is going to be for the slow guys...thats me.


If you enlarge the map Chaos posted, parking is where Mill Creek Road comes into Highway 38. Mill Creek Road is also called Middle Control Road....the sign at the Highway is Middle Control Road, pictured below.

If we were smart we would schedule a BBQ at Barton Flats after the ride.

Gurp...I don't think Sunday is going to work for me either...maybe we can hang together on this ride? I hear there is a bail out area if necessary. Are there some other noobs going on this ride. I wasn't sure either, but wanted to see if someone at my level would be there, I hate holding others up. Ok sounds cool to me.

Looks like we may have picked the better day to ride. At noon today it was 90 degrees in Angelus Oaks. Weather is supose to be 8 degrees cooler tomorrow with a strong breeze...hope they are right.

The crew at EpicRiders are planning a after ride hot dog meal at a local campground to be named later. Bartons Flats and Jenks Lake are the closest I can think of.

just finished up a ride at Santiago Oaks boy was it hot. Temp on my Sunnto said 95... but don't know how accurate it is. I know i was dying out there
