See http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sanbernardin...html#ap-passes

They are sold at a number of large retailers (REI, Sport Chalet, Big 5, etc.)

The daily adventure pass will cost you $5 and an annual pass is $30. If you buy the pass at REI and are a member, you can get the daily pass for $4 and the annual for...uh....some price less than $30 (I forget what the cost is). There is a ranger station at Highway 38 and Bryant St (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=34.0794n,+117.0471w+(Ranger+Stati on)&ie=UTF8&om=1), where you could buy a pass, but I don't know what time they are open.

As for roll call, I will be attending the Saturday ride.

I'm not sure how the Saturday SART ride got labeled 'fast paced', but it won't be.

Looking forward to this ride (but not the 85 mile drive to get there)! I'm coming from Huntington Beach, so I'd like to arrange a carpool as well. I have an Adventure Pass (it can be transfered to any vehicle we decide to take). I'm not sure where you guys are located?

I think some are assuming a fast ride because I posted the Loch Leven start option. It just means I値l be starting from down the hill a bit. I知 certainly not expecting a fast ride; I知 just doing this section on my own to turn my ride into a longer ride. As far as I know I値l be going solo from Loch Leven.

Hopefully I won稚 have any problem finding you all in Angeles Oaks. Will you be meeting at the store/post office parking lot or the dirt lot just a little past Angeles Oaks?

What's the start time now?

Can we post the start time and meeting place again, there may have been some confusion between ride canceled last week and the Sunday ride thingy. =D (Thanks)

Sounds like a carpool is coming together but don't know how many seats are already taken. (Jose you driven this time?)

What: SART. This is an out-and-back trail. The route will start from the post office and the turn-around point will be Southfork Campground. We'll be making intermittant stops where there is a fork in the trail (so no one gets lost). Estimated arrival time to Southfork Campground is 10~11 am (assuming no mechanical problems, injuries, etc). At Southfork, we will refill on water and take a lunch break. The return trip will be the same path we came in on, but it is slightly down hill. When we arrive at Middle Control, there are two options to get back to the turn out:

1. Climb the fire road (~2-3 miles). The grade isn't bad at all, it's just that you've spent most of your energy pedaling 20+ miles already!

2. Climb the single track back to the post office (~2.5 miles). If you're not tired by the time you get back to Middle Control, then you should take this route. You've pedaled this far....why not go up the single track?

Where: Meet at the turn out (just past the post office) on Highway 38. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=34.1508n,116.9756w+(SART+Parking+ lot)&ie=UTF8&t=h&om=1&ll=34.151129,-116.975298&spn=0.007955,0.021629
The post office is about 4-5 miles past the nearly 180 degree turn you make on Highway 38.

When: Meet at the turn out at 6:30 am. The actual start time will probably be around 7am.

If you need my contact information PM me (hopefully I get reception up there). Otherwise, I'll see you all at the turn out. I'll be the guy with the Integra.

Cool! Thanks for the details. I’ll see ya up there.

I’ll be on a big green bike (Kona) and the only one wearing lycra.

(LOL, that was for cyclecc)
