Default San Juan Trail October 18th - Changed Time

Where: San Juan Trail

When: Saturday October 18, 2008

Time: Start riding by 7:15-7:30 (Changed time due to recommends that is it better to get out early)

Distance: Around 20 miles

Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced (No Beginners Please)

I haven't had the chance to ride this trail yet, so I can't really tell you anything about it. But I'm hoping some people that have will show up.

Link to trailhead is HERE.

If you want to meet me HERE and carpool down, so we only have to purchase 1 pass. I'll be parked in the spaces in front of Chick's Sport Goods.

I have 2 spots left.

Calendar link is Here

I'm interested - but haven't done it either. Will you be riding up and back, or set a shuttle and start from the top?

From what it sounds, you guys will be leaving from the bottom and climbing to Cocktail Rocks. The climb is not bad. Most of us do it on a single speed. The weekends are pretty crowded to watch for that on the way back down.

If the ride is ~ 20 miles, I'd say it's the full loop.

We just did this loop last weekend (with Viejo Tie extra credit) trail is in great shape right now.

Have fun. I'll be working.

Sounds good but I'll be at the Kernville Fat Tire Festival. Parking lot fills early and you'll need an Adventure Pass (or get a $5 ticket).

I might be in for this. I'll know when it gets closer. I've ridden it before.

I'm a tentative yes at this point. 80% towards yes, 20% depends on life situations. I'm up for (and oddly enough, down with) up and back.

I Rode up 7 miles last night before dark.

As has been said in previous posts, the trail is in great shape right now. Someone did some nice work cleaning up the switchbacks since the last time I rode it.

Definite maybe, but I'll be going up to Blue Jay (since I've never been and got to start training). But sadly the SS is now a 1x9 (for CC and trailer duty).

I'd give it 35 minutes.
It's about 15 minutes up Ortega Hwy.

Anyone want to go tomorrow up to cocktail?
