This sounds like a great ride. Whats the head count for SS riders?

It depends where in Irvine, but anywhere from 25-40 minutes. A buddy that is riding it with me lives in Irvine also, so maybe if you guys are close you can carpool. I was going to ask him if he wanted to meet me off of Oso Parkway at Antonio and just drive down in my truck.

So you are also welcome too. That way we only have to buy 1 parking ticket instead of 3.

I can hold up to 4 people and bikes in my truck, so if anyone that is driving down wants to meet me at Oso and Antonio just let me know.

The pace isn't going to be super fast at all. I would say a moderate pace. I also have only been able to really ride for the past two weeks due to having an injury, so I'm not in that great of shape either. Right now I can pretty much do this route at Aliso: Mathis -> Rock-It -> Cholla -> Linx -> Cholla -> Meadows. So I would say if you could do that or Mathis twice, you should be fine.

i'm a maybe--if it's not hot. i've done it a half dozen times, although i'm probably barely in shape to go to cocktail rock. watch out for cops and donor-cycles on the 74.

+1 single speed
+1 Irvine mtber

I'm down to give SJ a try. I live in Irvine so if I could carpool that would save a lot of gas (I'll chip in for gas $$).

I'm new to single speeding and haven't tried SJ yet. I'll probably make it to cocktail rock and turn around and wait at the bottom if things don't pan out. The full SJ trail from the parking lot to blue jay is a long day.

Bump since this is coming up this weekend.

If anyone wants to meet me HERE (in the parking spaces in front of Chicks, so you don't have to buy a adventures pass, you can and we can carpool down. I can hold up to 4 people and bikes in my truck.

I have 1 extra set of tie-downs, and some rope I can use to anchor down the bikes with. If you have your own set of tie-downs please bring them because it is easier than rope.

If you want to meet me there, please either post here or PM me.

I have 2 spots left.

It is all ridable, be carefull with the deep rutes before the meadow. The weather should be perfect. I am training with the team in Nobel all week end.

I am not 100% so I may not be coming tomorrow (still have an injury from last weekend). We'll see what side of the bed I wake up on tomorrow!

If I wake up in time I'll head up over the hill. If not then I'll have to do a road ride.
