Thumbs up Marshall Cyn. Saturday May 27th, 2006 8AM

This will be a moderate to easy ride. We'll start out at Oak Mesa Park on Wheeler Ave. and ride to the trail head. We'll ride up Marshall Cyn. to Claremont Wilderness Park. From there, depending on group decision, we'll ride fireroads in the CWP or turn around and do some single track descent and climbing in Marshall Cyn. Or, if people really want a challenge we can go for Potato Mtn.

The ride will probably be about 14 miles.

It should be hot. Wear sunscreen, most of the fireroad is exposed. Bring water and a snack.

Personally, I need to be finished by about noon to get to a family gathering.

Hope you can make it. Beginners encouraged and welcome!

Cool beans! See you guys there. I drive a black Honda Civic hatchback. It's got the SocalTrailRiders.org sticker on the back window. And, I ride the red Stumpjumper FSR.

Anybody else?

I'll be there. Is it better to get off on Fruit or Foothill and the head over to Wheeler?

Exit Fruit. Turn right. Then left on Baseline, Right on Wheeler. Oak Mesa Park is on the right. Easy.

Default Will be there for sure.............

Looking forward to this. Bringing a friend as well we will be in his black Explorer Sport track. I will be the slow one with the Jamis Dakar Sport. He has an Epic. I told my friend that he could go only if he was ok with not pushing the ride faster than the group wants to go. He understands this ride is slow to moderate. He is one of these full speed all the time guys and is usually trying to kill me with no rest. As I struggle up the hill , he has been waiting , I hit the top and he says "ready?" LOL..........

Well, your friend and EMB can sprint up if they want and wait for us. I hate to hold others back. I just keep telling myself, "If you want to rest you're gonna have to beat the others to the top." It's the irony of mountain biking: the one's that need the least rest get the most waiting for those that need it the most and get the least. Of course, it makes us stronger, too.

So, dirty, uh, what kind of purse are you gonna get? I mean, not that there's anything wrong with it. Lots of guys from Europe carry purses. I'm just surprised is all. Make sure the shoes match, too. But, I'm sure you know that.
