I'm heading out to Oak Creek Village (Sedona) 10/3-10/6 to celebrate a friends 50th and she gave me the go ahead to bring my bike and "get lost" for a day *woohoo!* so since it seems there's always someone going out that way I thought I'd check the schedule...

Strong maybe I need to get out to Prescott. I really want to ride Mt Elden before the snow...plus it should be cool enough for me to enjoy Sedona. When I head out there I normal stay for 7-10 days so I can always fit a Sedona day in.

Make Sure you go to the Bike-n-Bean very cool bike shop. They will give you a map to do Bell Rock, Submarine or what I what I highly recommend Cathedral Rock / Budha Beach. The shop in sedona...can't remember their name would not give a map unless we rented their bikes.
Oh also bring along a slime tube or too, get off the trail a bit = flat. |

That must have been Mountain Bike Heaven. They are always cooler than you there. Another vote for Bike n Bean. I was there in July and ran into a former Bike N Bean co owner who told me he was going to open another Bike N Bean in California, somewhere around SLO/Cambria.

We own a place in Oak Creek so go there periodically.
Second the Bike/Bean map suggestion, but also want to add a really fun but easy ride-the Bell Rock path. It starts almost directly across from the Bike/Bean, up and back will take you no more than 45 min or so from the Bike/Bean and would be a fun way to steal a ride on those days you don't do an epic. Coming back down the trail is a blast, you can get up some pretty good speed in a few places. Suggest you do it at first light though, it gets crowded with hikers later but early AM you can cut loose pretty safely on the fast parts. Have fun and leave the red dust on your bike when you come back to SoCal! RC |

Locally known as the boat launch. Good to get to the goods and to take the very new beginner. Dean
